Hybrid light emitting diode tube with selectable light settings
A tube lamp including a light source including at least one string of light emitting diodes within a tube body; end caps having pin contacts on each end of the tube body; and driver electronics including a filament detector portion provided by a passive resistance capacitor (RC) circuit that simulates the filament load of a fluorescent lamp when installed into a ballast containing fixture. The tube lamp may also include a switch for selecting light characteristics for light emitted by the light source.
Lamp having a hidden switch
A lamp includes a lamp body; and an illumination assembly including a lamp shade assembly including a shade and a seat; and a lamp board. The seat is threadedly secured to the lamp body. The lamp board is secured to a lower end of the seat and laterally extends out of the seat. The lamp board serves as a bottom of the seat. The lamp board includes two first electrodes fastened on a bottom and a plurality of second electrodes adjacent to an edge. The first and second electrodes are electrically connected to positive and negative terminals of a control circuit of the lamp board respectively. The first and second electrodes are positive and negative terminals of a light source respectively. A clockwise rotation of the illumination assembly threadedly secures to the lamp body and turns on the light source.
TORCH
A torch (1), which is producible at low cost and is operable comfortably with one hand, irrespective of a gripping position, includes a torch head (2) which has a lighting unit (18), including a housing (3) configured as a gripping piece that extends along a longitudinal axis (L) and has a closed end section (4) at the rear. A linear-travel switch with a slide (5) operates the torch (1). The slide (5) is slidably and captively mounted on the housing (3). The slide (5) is formed in an L-shape with a first section (6) and a second section (9). The first section (6) extends longitudinally and axially along the housing (3) and the second section (9) engages behind (or catches behind) the closed end section (4) of the housing (3), so that the linear-travel switch can be operated in different gripping positions.
ELECTRIC LIGHTING DEVICES
Various embodiments of electric lighting devices and, in particular, electric candles are described. The devices can include a flame element onto which light can be projected from a light source. Preferably, the light is projected within a focal area on the flame element. The housing of the devices can include projections that help maintain a vertical position of a circuit board within the housing.
Electromagnetic pulse resistant device casing
An EMP-resistant (electromagnetic pulse-resistant) case for portable electronic devices is provided. The case includes a conductive external housing configured to enclose the electronic device. The housing includes a lower housing having a continuous connection surface. The housing also includes an upper housing having a continuous connection surface. The lower and upper housing are configured to releasably engage at the continuous connection surface. The housing includes a conductive gasket positioned at the continuous connection surface between the upper and lower housing. The case also includes a first insulative layer at least partially covering the inside surface of the upper and lower housing.
Shock absorbing flashlight
A flashlight is protected from damage due to shock such as occurs when a flashlight is dropped, crushed or otherwise physically abused. A plastic molding can be attached to either the front or rear portion of a flashlight or to both portions to resiliently absorb shock forces. A series of thin fins projects axially outwardly from the molding to resiliently deform upon impact so as to absorb shock and distribute the shock around the ends of the flashlight and to reduce stress concentrations around the ends of the flashlight. A series of axially-extending and radially-extending ribs further protects the flashlight from axially and radially-directed shock forces and further absorb shock forces. An optional safety crush or clearance zone can be provided between each shock absorber and the flashlight.
Battery assembly for a hand holdable light
A hand holdable light comprises: a light body having a forward portion, a rearward portion, and a central portion between the forward portion and to the rearward portion; a light source proximate a forward end; and a switch for energizing the light source. The rearward portion has a non-circular cross-section; the switch is on the forward portion; and the central portion has a recess opposite the switch. The light is holdable by a hand with a finger or thumb proximate the recess and the other of a finger or thumb proximate the switch. A battery assembly comprises: a battery housing for receiving and connecting a battery; an electrical switch on a first end of the battery housing; and a pattern of electrical contacts on a second end of the battery housing, wherein ones of the electrical contacts are connected to the battery.
Pistol mounted light and operation thereof
A flashlight for use with a pistol, the pistol having a trigger guard and a mounting rail. The flashlight includes an elongated housing having a spring arm clamping mechanism for mounting to the mounting rail, a light source at one end thereof, and paddle switches at an opposing end.
