Vehicle light assembly including a movable light signature member
A vehicle light assembly including one or more movable light signature members that are selectively translated from a first position partially or wholly in front of conventional light units (low beams, high beams, taillights, etc.) to a second position away from the light units when the light units are in use. Thus, for example, the movable light signature member(s) can include one or more LEDs or the like that are illuminated to act as daytime running lights, turn signal indicators, accessory lights, etc. when they are disposed in front of the light units and when the low beams, high beams, or taillights are not in use. This provides the desired light signature. When the low beams, high beams, or taillights are in use, the movable light signature member(s) are translated out of the way, such that the light units are visible adjacent to and/or between the movable light signature member(s).
Reconfigurable light that provides multiple different light configurations from a single housing and controlling the reconfigurable light
A light having a housing that is connectable to a vehicle; reflectors located within the housing and being divided into three or more segments so that the light comprises: a first segment, a second segment, and a third segment; and a plurality of light sources located within each of the three or more segments, the light sources include: a first light state and a second light state; wherein the first segment is illuminated by first lights with the first light state respectively to generate a first light type, wherein the first segment includes first lights with the second light state to generate a second light type that is different than the first light type; and wherein the second segment includes first lights with a first light state that produce a first light type that is identical to the second light type to create a single light.
Vehicle lamp system with frustum reflector and lighting method using frustum reflector
A vehicle lamp assembly includes a light source that emits light, a side marker lamp having a lens, and a frustum reflector that guides light from the light source to the lens of the side marker lamp. A vehicle lighting method includes emitting light from a light source into a frustum reflector, redirecting the light within the frustum reflector, and illuminating a side marker lamp using the light redirected within the frustum reflector.
Light apparatus
An apparatus can include a first light bar that includes a first light guide that can reflect a first light from a first source. The apparatus can include a second light bar that includes a second light guide that can reflect a second light from a second source. The first light bar can couple with the second light bar.
Lighting device for a motor vehicle, motor vehicle and method for operating a lighting device
The present disclosure relates to a lighting device for a motor vehicle having at least one exterior light and a control device. The exterior light has an illuminated area having at least two independently controllable segments, each comprising at least one light source, wherein the control device is designed to operate the exterior light in at least two operating modes, with each of which a geometric manifestation of the exterior light, defined by the light sources operated in the operating mode, is associated such that the total luminous intensity of the exterior light is within a range limited by a minimum value and a maximum value.
Vehicle lamp and reflector
A vehicle lamp includes at least a light source, a primary reflector, and an inner lens. A method of forming the vehicle lamp includes dividing a facet area of the primary reflector into a plurality of smaller facets and analyzing light intensity performance for each smaller facet. The method further includes comparing the light intensity performance for each smaller facet to a predetermined standard, and identifying smaller facets that do not meet the predetermined standard. The method further includes adjusting a position of the light source associated with each smaller facet that does not meet the predetermined standard or re-shaping an outer surface of the primary reflector in an area associated with each smaller facet that does not meet the predetermined standard.
Lighting device
A lighting device disclosed in an embodiment of the invention comprises a substrate; a plurality of light sources arranged in a second direction on the substrate; a lighting module having a light guide portion disposed on the substrate and the light sources; an optical lens disposed on the lighting module, the optical lens having an incident surface having a width greater than a width of the lighting module in a first direction, and an exit surface from which light incident on the incident surface is emitted; and a reflecting member having an insertion hole in which the light guide portion is disposed, a reflective portion extending to both sides of the insertion hole and covering both sides of the light guide portion, and a supporting portion supporting a lower edge of the optical lens, wherein the light guide portion and the insertion hole have a width in the first direction smaller than a length in the second direction, and an upper end of the reflective portion may be positioned higher than an upper end of the light guide portion.
Illumination device for a motor vehicle
Illumination device (1) for a motor vehicle headlight, comprising an illuminant (2) and a light guide (3), wherein the light from the illuminant (2) enters the light guide (3) and exits via an exit section (3a), a first optical element (4) with a light entry surface and a light exit surface associated with the light entry surface, wherein light from the light guide (3) can enter the first optical element (4) via the light entry surface and exit via the light exit surface, wherein the light entry surface has a first section (4a) and at least one second section (4b) adjoining the first section, wherein the illumination device (1) has a second optical element (5) between the exit section (3a) and the light entry surface (4a, 4b), which is configured to deflect the light that exits the light guide (3) in such a way that the light, after passing through the second optical element (5), strikes the entire first section (4a) and the entire second section (4b) of the light entry surface of the first optical element (4).
Lighting device for a motor vehicle
A lighting device for a motor vehicle includes a lighting component having one or more light sources and one or more transparent facet bodies, each of which bodies has a surface consisting of a plurality of planar first facets. Light originating from the one or more light sources is radiated into the one or more transparent facet bodies as first luminous radiation. The first luminous radiation is at least partially refracted on first facets of the one or more transparent facet bodies and subsequently exits the lighting device as second luminous radiation in order to produce light distribution. One or more translucent optical components are located in the lighting device between the lighting component and the one or more transparent facet bodies.
