METHOD AND DEVICE FOR GENERATING STEAM COMPRISING A SCALE CONTAINER AND STEAMER APPLIANCE WITH SUCH A DEVICE
The present invention relates to a device (1) for generating steam. The device (1) comprises a plate (2) forming a surface, and a heating element (3) to heat the plate (2) to a predetermined temperature being at least above water evaporation temperature. The plate (2) is inclined at an angle compared to the horizontal direction to define an upper end and a lower end. The device (1) also comprises a water inlet arrangement (4) for dispensing water onto the plate (2) proximate the upper end, a control unit (11) to control the flow of water dispensed onto the plate (2), and a scale collection container (5) disposed adjacent to the plate (2). The control unit (11) is configured to control the flow of water dispensed onto the plate (2) and the temperature of the plate (2) so that substantially all the water dispensed onto the plate (2) evaporates before it reaches the lower end (15) of the plate (2). This invention allows an easy scale collection, thanks to the inclination angle of the plate's surface that causes the dislodged scale to travel down the plate's surface toward the lower end of the plate and, ultimately, into the container.
STEAM GENERATION APPARATUS
Steam generation apparatus and method in which liquid is regulated in thermal catalytic reaction below a specific temperature and accelerated in thermal catalytic reaction above that temperature, including a vaporizer housing, axial ends of the housing being opened, and collars formed at axial ends of a cylindrical part of the housing; upper and lower flanges joined to housing collars; a vaporizer with a spiral channel in between; an exothermic member disposed such that the vaporizer inside is heated to a predetermined temperature; an injection nozzle at a center of the upper flange with an intake for liquid to be treated; a steam socket attached to the lower flange for guiding steam to the spiral channel, the steam socket including an inlet port connected to an inside of the vaporizer, outlet port connected to the spiral channel, and a steam channel connecting the inlet port and the outlet port.
HEAT EXCHANGER USING NON-PURE WATER FOR STEAM GENERATION
A process and a device are described for producing high purity and high temperature steam from non-pure water which may be used in a variety of industrial processes that involve high temperature heat applications. The process and device may be used with technologies that generate steam using a variety of heat sources, such as, for example industrial furnaces, petrochemical plants, and emissions from incinerators. Of particular interest is the application in a thermochemical hydrogen production cycle such as the Cu—Cl Cycle. Non-pure water is used as the feed-stock in the thermochemical hydrogen production cycle, with no need to adopt additional and conventional water pre-treatment and purification processes. The non-pure water may be selected from brackish water, saline water, seawater, used water, effluent treated water, tailings water, and other forms of water that is generally believed to be unusable as a direct feed-stock of industrial processes. The direct usage of this water can significantly reduce water supply costs.

Device and method for generating steam comprising a container for collecting scale flakes
The invention relates to a device (1) for generating steam. The device (1) comprises a first plate (2) being inclined at a positive first angle (A0) compared to the horizontal direction (H) to define a first upper end (2a) and a first lower end (2b), a heating element (3) to heat the first plate (2) to a predetermined temperature being at least above water evaporation temperature, a water inlet arrangement (4) for dispensing water onto the first plate (2), a second plate (5) being inclined at a negative second angle (B0) compared to the horizontal direction (H) to define a second upper end (5a) and a second lower end (5b), the second upper end (5a) adjoining the first lower end (2b), and a container (6) extending at least below said first lower end (2b), said container (6) being arranged for collecting scale flakes falling from the first plate (2). This solution allows creating a larger volume for the collection of scale, thus increasing the operating life of the device (1).
