HEAT EXCHANGER USING NON-PURE WATER FOR STEAM GENERATION
A process and a device are described for producing high purity and high temperature steam from non-pure water which may be used in a variety of industrial processes that involve high temperature heat applications. The process and device may be used with technologies that generate steam using a variety of heat sources, such as, for example industrial furnaces, petrochemical plants, and emissions from incinerators. Of particular interest is the application in a thermochemical hydrogen production cycle such as the Cu—Cl Cycle. Non-pure water is used as the feed-stock in the thermochemical hydrogen production cycle, with no need to adopt additional and conventional water pre-treatment and purification processes. The non-pure water may be selected from brackish water, saline water, seawater, used water, effluent treated water, tailings water, and other forms of water that is generally believed to be unusable as a direct feed-stock of industrial processes. The direct usage of this water can significantly reduce water supply costs.
POWER PLANT AND WATER CLEANING METHOD FOR A ONCE-THROUGH WATER/STEAM CYCLE OF A POWER PLANT
A power plant with a water-steam-cycle includes a steam generator with a plurality of heating surfaces that carry a fluid and transfer heat to the fluid. The plurality of heating surfaces has an economizer for preheating the fluid and a fluidly connected evaporator for producing steam. A steam turbine receives the steam produced in the steam generator to generate power output. A condenser condenses steam from the steam turbine. The condenser has a hotwell as collection container for condensed steam or water. A polishing plant is arranged fluidly between the hotwell of the condenser and the economizer. A drain line interconnects an outlet of the economizer and the hotwell of the condenser. A fluid line interconnects the outlet of the economizer and the evaporator. The fluid line includes a syphon to hold back water in the economizer.

Once through steam generator with 100% quality steam output
A system for deriving 100% quality steam for steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) injection or other applications features a once through steam generator (OTSG), a steam-water separator connected downstream of the OTSG's radiant tubes to separate steam and water from a two-phase flow received therefrom, superheater tubes installed in the convection section and connected to a steam outlet of the steam-water separator in downstream relation thereto to receive and heat dried steam therefrom to a superheated state, and a desuperheater connected downstream of the superheater tubes to receive the superheated steam therefrom and use same to vaporize blowdown water from the steam-water separator, whereby the vaporized blowdown water and the superheated steam collectively form a superheated steam output for the intended application, typically after additional separation of solid particles therefrom for optimal steam quality.

METHOD FOR PROCESSING A LIQUID MEDIUM AND PROCESSING PLANT
A method for processing a liquid medium, wherein the medium to be processed is conducted through a liquid circuit and the medium to be processed is heated up in the liquid circuit with the aid of a heat exchanger. A liquid-vapor separation process is carried out in a separating device, and a liquid obtained in the liquid-vapor separation process is conducted into the heat exchanger as a heating medium.
