The elongated ignition tube can be extended into a candle. The elongated ignition tube produces a flame when the lighter is actuated to ignite a wick of the candle. A cutting unit is movably integrated into the handle and the cutting unit is actuatable into a cutting condition to cut the wick of the candle to a desired length.

The assembly body (16) can include an outer surface (216S), and the candle maintenance device (14) can be removably coupled to the outer surface (216S) of the assembly body (16). Alternatively, the assembly body (16) can define an insert chamber (22), and the candle maintenance device (14) can be removably positionable within the insert chamber (22). At least one of the assembly body (16) and the candle maintenance device (14) can be formed from non-plastic materials.

A candle wick trimming assembly includes a pair of scissors that is insertable into a candle jar. A first box is coupled to a distal end of a a first scissor body the scissors and the first box is positionable to abut a top of the candle. A first blade is coupled to the first box and the first blade is spaced approximately 3.0 mm from an end of the first box positionable on the top of the candle. A second box is coupled to a distal end of a second scissor body of the scissors and the second box is urged toward the first box when the scissors are closed. A second blade is coupled to the second box and the second blade engages the first blade when the scissors are closed to cut the wick.

A distal portion of the first elongated member has a cavity defined by a floor and a plurality of sidewalls extending upwardly therefrom. One of the sidewalls defining the cavity forms a first cutting edge. A distal portion of the second elongated member closes the cavity when the cutting assembly is in a closed state. The second elongated member also has a second cutting edge at its distal-most end. The first and second cutting edges interact to shear a candle wick to a desired length and force the sheared portion of the candle wick into the cavity.
