Provided is a vacuum pump that can realize energy conservation when performing abatement of exhaust gas.

A vacuum pump that sucks in and exhausts exhaust gas includes a motor serving as a drive source, and a first controller that controls driving of the motor. The first controller monitors a state of the motor, and in a case in which the state of the motor is a specific state excluding when starting up and when stopped, outputs a specific signal (process signal) to an external entity.

Fire activated cooling fluid valve

A cooling fluid valve having an actuator portion extending outwardly beyond an outer surface of an actuator housing. The cooling fluid valve actuator portion includes a plug force fit into an orifice in a valve housing. The plug blocks flow of cooling fluid from a cooling fluid inlet to a cooling fluid outlet. The cooling fluid outlet is connected to communicate cooling fluid to the component. The plug is formed of a material having a first coefficient of thermal expansion. A portion of the valve housing includes the orifice receiving the plug being formed of a material having a second coefficient of thermal expansion with the second coefficient of thermal expansion being higher than the first coefficient of thermal expansion, such that when the actuator portion of the valve is exposed to heat, the force fit may be eliminated as the valve housing expands at greater rate than the plug.

Pump, especially for delivering liquid fuel for a vehicle heater

A pump, especially for delivering liquid fuel for a vehicle heater, includes a pump body (12) providing a pump chamber (14). The pump body (12) is made with magnetic shape memory material at least in some areas. The pump further includes a field-generating arrangement (44) for generating a magnetic field (M). The magnetic shape memory material of the pump body (12) can be brought from an initial state into a deformed state by generating a magnetic field (M) by the field-generating arrangement (44). A pump chamber volume in the deformed state differs from the pump chamber volume present in the initial state.

LIQUID FUEL PORTABLE HEATER AND CONTROL METHOD OF SAID HEATER

A liquid fuel portable heater (100) comprises: a combustion chamber (101) having a fuel inlet with a nebuliser (13); an electric pump (10) having an inlet (11) for suctioning said liquid fuel from a tank (6), and an outlet (12) connected to said nebuliser (13); a control unit (20) configured so that, when the heater (100) is turned on, said control unit (20) supplies the electric pump with a sequence of pulses (115, 115) with a non-zero voltage, and pause intervals (116) with a substantially zero voltage alternating with said pulses, wherein the average duration of the pulses (115, 115) is less than the average duration of the pause intervals (116). In addition, a method for controlling an electric power supply of a fuel electric pump (10) of a liquid fuel portable heater by means of an electric control unit (20) configured to control said electric power supply, comprising a step of electrically supplying said pump, once the heater is turned on, with a sequence of pulses (115, 115) with a non-zero voltage, and pause intervals (116) with a substantially zero voltage alternating with said pulses, wherein the average duration of the pulses (115, 115) is less than the average duration of the pause intervals (116).
