COLLECTIVE EXHAUST SYSTEM
The disclosure provides a collective exhaust system capable of safely detecting a closing failure of a check valve of the collective exhaust system. The collective exhaust system includes: multiple combustion devices including blowing parts and exhaust pipes; a collective exhaust duct to which the exhaust pipes of the multiple combustion devices are respectively connected; and check valves respectively provided between the exhaust pipes and the collective exhaust duct. The collective exhaust system is configured to detect a closing failure of the check valves by performing, in a state where one of the blowing parts of the multiple combustion devices is stopped and all the other blowing parts are driven with a predetermined blower capacity, a backflow determination from the collective exhaust duct to the combustion device with the stopped blowing part, and by performing the backflow determination for the multiple combustion devices.
Valve arrangement for a gas burner
According to one embodiment a valve arrangement for a gas burner is provided that includes a manual gas valve with a manual actuator for opening or closing the gas flow, and an electromagnetic valve having a movable closure member which allows opening or closing a gas passage to the burner. The electromagnetic valve is arranged in the gas valve, with the manual actuator being coupled to a rotary flow regulating element, the manual actuator being configured in order to move the closure member of the electromagnetic valve, opening the gas passage, the manual gas valve including a reduced gas flow channel which puts the inlet conduit in fluid communication with the regulating element regardless of the position of the closure member.

Coaxial gas valve assemblies including electronically controlled solenoids
A coaxial gas valve assembly includes a gas inlet, a gas outlet, a valve tube, and a shaft member. A main valve is movable between a closed position and an open position (broadly, openable and closable). A main spring is positioned to resiliently bias the main valve in its closed position. A redundant valve is movable between a closed position and an open position (broadly, openable and closable). A redundant spring is positioned to resiliently bias the redundant valve in its closed position. A solenoid coil is positioned to electromagnetically move the shaft member within the valve tube. A balance diaphragm is connected to the valve tube. A gas path through at least the valve tube allows gas flow from a first side of the balance diaphragm to a second side of the balance diaphragm to reduce a pressure difference between the first and second sides of the balance diaphragm.
Water heater pilot operation
A method of controlling water heater pilot flame ignition includes receiving, by a controller of a water heater, a user input and controlling a pilot gas valve to start a gas flow to a pilot burner in response to the user input. The method further includes, in response to the user input, controlling, by the controller, an igniter to generate an ignition spark for lighting a pilot flame. The method also includes controlling, by the controller, the pilot gas valve to maintain the gas flow to the pilot burner if the pilot flame is lit.
THERMOELECTRIC SAFETY ASSEMBLY
A thermoelectric safety assembly that includes a thermocouple configured to detect a flame in a burner and, in response to detecting the flame, generating an electrical voltage. The assembly includes an electromagnetic valve electrically connected to the thermocouple, and a transistor electrically connected between the thermocouple and the electromagnetic valve. The electromagnetic valve is arranged electrically connected with a field-effect transistor. The assembly also includes a voltage booster configured to power the transistor, the transistor being connected in parallel with the voltage booster. An output terminal of the voltage booster is arranged connected with a gate terminal of the transistor, the voltage booster being configured to boost the electrical voltage generated in the thermocouple, an electrical voltage being obtained that is capable of keeping the transistor closed such that the electromagnetic valve is energized.

SAFE START-UP OF A COOLED RADIANT TUBE BURNER AT HIGH TEMPERATURE OPERATION
A furnace heating device is provided for the heating a furnace chamber, comprising:
at least one radiant tube, configured to heat the furnace chamber and which can be heated using a burner, which can be operated in a first operating mode with a flame and in a second operating mode with flameless combustion, a burner control device, configured to control on and off states and operating mode setting for the burner of the radiant tube, wherein said burner control device is configured to determine when a temperature (T) of the furnace chamber lies above a critical temperature (T.sub.k), which must at least be present in a combustion chamber for safe operation of flameless combustion, wherein there is a single safety monitor for monitoring the temperature within said furnace chamber and communicating said temperature to said burner control device and wherein said burner control device is configured to send a signal to not send a signal to start said flameless combustion when it is determined that said temperature (T) of the furnace chamber is above the critical temperature and a cooling process or a purging process or a control device switch on procedure has occurred.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING FLAME INSTABILITY
A system for controlling flame instability. The system may include a nozzle coupled to a fuel supply line, an insulation housing coupled to the nozzle, a combustor coupled to the nozzle via the insulation housing, where the combustor is grounded, a pressure sensor coupled to the combustor and configured to detect pressure in the combustor, and an instability controlling assembly coupled to the pressure sensor and to an alternating current power supply. The instability controlling assembly can control flame instability of a flame in the system based on pressure detected by the pressure sensor by applying a voltage from the alternating current power supply to the system to create an electric field.
