PILOT BURNER FOR COMBUSTOR
A pilot burner for a combustor includes an inner conduit configured to deliver a fuel, and an outer conduit concentric with the inner conduit and configured to deliver air. An inner wall defines an inner plenum, and a partition wall is radially outward of the inner wall and defines an intermediate plenum with at least a portion of the inner wall. Exit passages fluidly couple the inner plenum to the intermediate plenum. An outer wall defines an outer plenum with at least a portion of the partition wall. A crossover section includes passages fluidly coupling the inner conduit to the outer plenum, and passages fluidly coupling the outer conduit to the inner plenum. An end plate includes openings to direct fuel, air for combustion, and air for cooling from the respective plenums.
LIQUID HYDROGEN EVAPORATORS AND HEATERS
In accordance with at least on aspect of this disclosure, there is provided a hydrogen fuel system for aircraft. The hydrogen fuel system includes a gas turbine engine and a fuel feed conduit. The fuel feed conduit is defined at least in part by, in fluid series, a liquid hydrogen tank fluidly connected to a combustor of the gas turbine engine, a liquid hydrogen pump to drive fuel to the combustor of the gas turbine engine, an evaporator, and an electric heat source in thermal communication with the evaporator to add heat into a flow of hydrogen passing through the evaporator. In embodiments, the electric energy source associated with the electric heat source to power the electric heat source.

A fitting for forming a double-walled tube includes an inner fitting having a first inner weld lip, a second inner weld lip, and an inner body extending from the first inner weld lip to the second inner weld lip and having an outer surface with a first threading. The fitting also includes an outer fitting having a first outer weld lip, a second outer weld lip, and an outer body extending from the first outer weld lip to the second outer weld lip and having an inner surface with a second threading that is configured to mate with the first threading.
Systems and methods for spraying fuel in an augmented gas turbine engine
In some embodiments, systems, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful for spraying fuel in an augmented gas turbine engine. The embodiments may include a spray bar with a fuel injection aperture configured to inject a fuel jet into a fuel conduit; the fuel conduit having a fuel window to discharge the fuel jet into a core exhaust flow of an augmented gas turbine engine; a first channel directing a first air stream into the fuel conduit; and a second channel directing a second air stream into the fuel conduit. The first air stream and the second air stream cooperatively shape the fuel jet coming out of the fuel window.
Systems and methods for spraying fuel in an augmented gas turbine engine
In some embodiments, systems, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful for spraying fuel in an augmented gas turbine engine. The embodiments may include a spray bar with a fuel injection aperture configured to inject a fuel jet into a fuel conduit; the fuel conduit having a fuel window to discharge the fuel jet into a core exhaust flow of an augmented gas turbine engine; a first channel directing a first air stream into the fuel conduit; and a second channel directing a second air stream into the fuel conduit. The first air stream and the second air stream cooperatively shape the fuel jet coming out of the fuel window.
Flow passages formed in a flame tube for a gas turbine combustor chamber
A gas turbine combustion chamber, having a combustion chamber housing, a burner positioned at least partially in the combustion chamber housing and a flame tube positioned in the combustion chamber housing. An upstream end of the flame tube has a flame tube cover. In the region of the flame tube cover radially inside the flame tube cover a mixing tube of the burner extends, which defines a pre-primary combustion zone. Between the mixing tube of the burner and the flame tube cover an axial air flow passage is formed, via which air can be conducted in the axial direction outside along the mixing tube, and into the flame tube cover radial air flow passages are introduced via which the air following the axial air flow passage can be conducted in the radial direction of the flame tube cover for cooling the flame tube cover.
COMBUSTOR INLET MIXING SYSTEM WITH SWIRLER VANES HAVING SLOTS
A combustor inlet mixing system (10) formed from a plurality of circumferentially spaced swirler vanes (38) extending radially outward from a nozzle hub. Each of the swirler vanes (38) may have a length (62) that extends downstream along at least a portion of the combustor inlet mixing system (10), and may further have a thickness (66) that extends along a circumference of the nozzle hub. At least one of the swirler vanes (38) may further have at least one slot (42) cut entirely through the thickness (66) of a portion of the swirler vane (38). The slot (42) may separate the swirler vane (38) from the nozzle hub along a portion of the length (62) of the swirler vane (38).
SEALING DEVICE BETWEEN AN INJECTION SYSTEM AND A FUEL INJECTION NOZZLE OF AN AIRCRAFT TURBINE ENGINE
An arrangement for an aircraft turbine engine combustion chamber including an injection system and a fuel injector is provided. The injection system includes an injector nozzle guide, the inner surface of which delimits an opening for centering the nozzle, which includes an outer casing. The arrangement further includes a sealing device between the inner surface of the guide and the outer casing. The sealing device includes a first part accommodated in a groove of the outer casing, the groove being delimited, in part, by a downstream delimiting surface, the first part having a first sealing surface and bearing axially against the downstream delimiting surface; and a second part having a second sealing surface bearing radially against the inner surface of the guide.
BLUFF BODY FUEL MIXER
A fuel injection system may comprise a mixer and a fuel injector disposed within the mixer. The mixer may comprise an outer housing with an exit port and a bluff body extending across the exit port of the outer housing. A flared surface of the mixer may match a contour of the bluff body.

To provide a fuel nozzle for a gas turbine combustor, offering favorable durability and strength reliability. In a fuel nozzle for a gas turbine combustor, jetting fuel into a combustion chamber of the gas turbine combustor, the fuel nozzle is metallurgically and integrally bonded with a base plate that supports the fuel nozzle, and an interface between the fuel nozzle and the base plate includes a surface in which bonding is performed by a fusion joint or a brazing joint and an inside part in which bonding is performed by pressure bonding.
