Oven appliance and method for preheating high-heat cooking surface
An oven appliance may include a cabinet, a plurality of chamber walls, a cooking surface, a top heating element, a temperature sensor, and a controller. The cooking surface may be defined in a cooking chamber. The top heating element may be mounted above the cooking surface to heat the cooking chamber. The temperature sensor may be disposed within the cabinet. The controller may be configured to initiate a cooking operation that includes initiating preheat activation of the top heating element, receiving temperature signals from the temperature sensor during the preheat activation, determining a preheat threshold is met based on the received temperature signals, and initiating cooking activation of the top heating element based on a cooking cycle having a predetermined time interval subsequent to determining the preheat threshold is met. Initiating cooking activation may include directing the top heating element based on the cooking cycle for the predetermined time interval.
Cooking appliance with control housing spill control support
A household appliance is provided having a cooktop with a control housing disposed at an outer peripheral edge of the cooktop. A control panel of the control housing is configured to allow a user to control the cooktop and is least partially housed within the control housing. A support member is interposed at least partially between the cooktop and the control housing and includes a gutter adapted to direct fluids from the cooktop away from electrical or electronic elements housed within the control housing, such as the control panel. The support member can be coupled to or otherwise support the control housing, such as to assure appropriate alignment thereof, such as for automated assembly. The support member further can be hidden from view of a user beneath respective upper surfaces of the control housing and the cooktop, allowing these upper surfaces to lie co-planarly, providing a desirable aesthetic.
Automatic safety device and method for a stove
Device and method are described for operational control of a knob on a stove or range. In some examples, a safety device, a sensor relay device, and method are described for automatically positioning an operational shaft of a burner to an Off position such that the power supplied to the burner is terminated upon the occurrence of a safety event.
LIGHT SOURCE UNIT AND COOKING APPLIANCE INCLUDING THE SAME
A light source module and a cooking appliance including the same may include a light source emitting light toward a glass top plate, a light source guide to accommodate the light source, including a light transmitting path formed in the light source guide, and limit a light irradiation region so as to guide light emitted from the light source to a light display region of the glass to plate through the light transmitting path, and an attachment bracket provided between the light source guide and the glass top plate, the attachment bracket having an optical emission path to allow light to pass from the light transmitting path and the light display region.
CONTROL KNOB WITH OPTICAL SHAFT ENCODER AND VISUAL FEEDBACK OF ANGULAR POSITION
A control knob assembly for a consumer appliance is provided. The control knob assembly provides a compact means for determining the angular position of the control knob and illuminating a plurality of indicators to communicate that angular position to a user of the appliance. More specifically, the control knob assembly includes an optical encoder disc that defines a plurality of teeth that are in operable communication with a plurality of optical sensors. The position of the sensors and the spacing of the plurality of teeth are configured to generate signals as the control knob is rotated that allow for the precise determination of the angular position of the control knob. Moreover, the optical encoder disc may fit inside a lighting assembly and may have a low profile, resulting in a compact control knob assembly that may easily fit within the area underneath the control knob and control panel.
METHOD FOR PROVIDING CUSTOMIZED COOKING CONTENT AND USER TERMINAL FOR IMPLEMENTING THE SAME
The present disclosure is to provide a method for providing customized cooking content and a user terminal for implementing the same that may increase a quality of the dish and interest in cooking by allowing a user to cook at a pace that suits a user's level in consideration of cooking skills of the user, and may provide an environment more suitable for cooking in association with a near kitchen tool and/or home appliance. Provided is a user terminal including a display, a camera, and a controller for performing control to recognize information about a cooking process appearing in cooking content via artificial intelligence, recognize, via the artificial intelligence, a cooking situation of a user filmed via the camera during reproduction of the cooking content, and adjust a reproduction speed of the cooking content based on the cooking process of the cooking content and the cooking situation of the user.
METHOD OF OUTPUTTING INFORMATION REGARDING COOKING APPLIANCE AND WIRELESS POWER TRANSMISSION APPARATUS THEREFOR
A wireless power transmission apparatus including at least one processor configured to drive a plurality of working coils to transmit power to drive a communication interface of a cooking appliance with which a communication connection has been released when the cooking appliance is moved from a first cooking zone; receive a first wireless communication signal including identification information from the cooking appliance, and drive the working coils to generate respectively corresponding magnetic fields according to a plurality of different power transmission patterns corresponding to a plurality of cooking zones; and output second cooking zone information through an output interface in response to receiving a second wireless communication signal including the identification information regarding the cooking appliance and information regarding the second cooking zone corresponding to one of the plurality of different power transmission patterns detected at a current location of the cooking appliance.
APPLIANCES WITH A MOBILE USER INTERFACE
A cooking appliance that includes a heating element, a controller, and a dock, each mounted to a panel. The cooking appliance also includes a user interface which is removably mountable to the panel, so that the user interface can be used separated from the cooking appliance. The controller is configured for detecting a proximity of the user interface relative to the panel. Further, the controller is configured for deactivating the heating element in response to the detected proximity of the user interface relative to the panel passing a deactivation threshold.
Light emitting device in door for cooking appliance and cooking appliance including the same
A light-emitting device is provided for a cooking appliance that includes a body that defines a cooking chamber having an opening, and a door configured to open and close at least a portion of the opening of the cooking chamber. The light-emitting device includes a light-emitting member that is located on at least one of the door or the body, that faces a gap defined between an edge portion of the door and a front portion of the body, and that is configured to emit light of a predetermined color in response to operation of the cooking chamber, and a reflective portion that extends from the front portion of the body, that is configured to receive light from the light-emitting member through the gap, and that is configured to direct light in a direction away from the door.
