Multi-function hydraulic separator
A hydronic system separator has an air separator with a vent release mechanism to remove air from the fluid within a hydronic system. The separator includes a magnetic assembly for collecting ferrous particles from the fluid. One or more screens are used to remove other particles from the fluid. The separator housing includes a removable debris collection receptacle that has a drain assembly.
WATER HEATER HAVING HIGHLY EFFICIENT AND COMPACT HEAT EXCHANGER
A water heater includes an inner water tube coil and an outer water tube coil separated by a drum baffle. The inner and outer coils extend above a top edge of the drum baffle by at least a full turn of each coil. A flue gas bypass path is defined between a top edge of the drum baffle and a top insulation layer above the inner and outer coils. Flue gases flow radially though the inner coil, up along the drum baffle, through the flue gas bypass path, and downwardly over the outer coil to heat water flowing through the inner and outer coils. The water flows into the outer coil at the bottom of the coil, winds upwardly through the outer coil in countercurrent flow with respect to the flue gases, then down through the inner coil.
Method of Chemically Cleaning Pipework Systems
A process for chemical cleaning and corrosion inhibition of pipework, typically in closed loop systems, that avoids or significantly minimises the requirement for wastewater discharge where the system is first acidified using a mixture of cleaning agents capable of dissolving metal oxides. The method then precipitates any dissolved contaminants and separates the precipitate from the carrying fluid. Further elements of a combined corrosion inhibitor package are then added to any cleaning agent ions that remain in solution to develop a fully functional corrosion inhibition package to protect the metals of the system.
CHEMICAL-AGENT DOSING APPARATUS
A chemical-agent dosing apparatus for dosing a heating system with chemical agent. The apparatus comprises a chemical-agent storage chamber which stores a chemical agent and a dosing device which has a dosing chamber and a driving means. The dosing chamber is fluidly connected with the storage chamber and defines a dosing volume for receiving a dose of chemical agent. The driving means drives fluid from the dosing chamber via the dose outlet.
INSULATING JACKET FOR A FILTER
An insulating cover for a central heating system filter is provided in two parts. The insulating cover may be made from, for example, expanded polypropylene foam. The cover may include magnets for attracting and retaining magnetic debris within the filter. The cover may include a leadscrew arrangement to assist with removal of the cover from the filter for servicing.
Magnetic filter for a central heating system
A magnetic filter for a central heating system is disclosed, the filter including a separation chamber, a magnet for capturing magnetic particles within the separation chamber, an inlet for fluidly connecting to a central heating system circuit, an outlet for fluidly connecting to a central heating system circuit, and a single valve operable to select between at least two positions, the valve in a first position fluidly connecting the inlet to the separation chamber and fluidly connecting the outlet to the separation chamber and the valve in a second position isolating both the inlet and the outlet from the separation chamber.
MEASURING MAGNETITE BUILDUP IN A MAGNETIC FILTER
A magnetite level monitoring device for a magnetic filter in a central heating system, the magnetic filter including a separation chamber, an inlet to the chamber and an outlet from the chamber, and a magnetic element disposed within the chamber for attracting magnetic particles and removing the magnetic particles from the system water as it flows through the chamber, and the monitoring device including: a housing for placing adjacent to the outside of the separation chamber; a magnetometer mounted to the housing; a magnetic field guide mounted to the housing, the magnetic field guide being disposed between the magnetometer and the outside of the separation chamber, when the housing is mounted to the separation chamber; and output means adapted to issue a notification when the output from the magnetometer exceeds a predetermined threshold.
HEAT TRAP APPARATUS FOR WATER HEATER
A heat trap apparatus for a water heater is provided. The heat trap apparatus includes a tubular body, a liner disposed within the tubular body, and a heat trap baffle assembly having a tubular housing coaxially disposed within the liner. The liner includes a projection to engage with an inner surface of the tubular body at a first end using an interference fit. The tubular housing includes a first diametric portion to engage with the inner surface of the tubular body at a second end using an interference fit, a second diametric portion extending from the first diametric portion and to engage with an inner surface of the liner using an interference fit, and a third diametric portion extending from the second diametric portion and to movably support one or more heat trap inserts to inhibit convective fluid flow therethrough.
COMPACT WATER HEATING AND TREATMENT SYSTEM
A water heating and treatment system includes a water heater operatively coupled to a water heater controller, a hot water outflow line from the water heater, and a cold water supply line to supply water to the water heater. The cold water supply line includes at least one of an anti-scale device operatively coupled to an anti-scale device controller, and at least one sanitation device operatively coupled to a sanitation device controller. The mixing station is operatively coupled to a mixing station controller. The mixing station supplies heated water to at least a first temperature zone at a first hot water temperature. Controllers of the water heater controller, the anti-scale device controller, the sanitation device controller and the mixing station controller are co-located at a front of a single enclosure behind an openable door, the controllers operatively coupled to a supervisory controller.
