A water heating solar module designed for being connected to a boiler of a water heating system, the module comprises a vessel having a water inlet and a water outlet, a first heating element installed in the vessel, and a power supply for feeding the first heating element with electric power produced from solar energy. The module is arranged as follows: the vessel is positioned near the boiler, so that the vessel's bottom portion is placed not higher than the boiler's bottom portion; the water inlet is provided at the vessel's bottom portion and is adapted for receiving water from the boiler; the water outlet is provided at the vessel's top portion and is adapted for delivering water from the vessel to the boiler; the power supply is electrically connectable to a photoelectric device for receiving electric energy there-from, and to the first heating element, for heating water in the vessel. The invention also describes a system comprising the described module connected to the mentioned boiler, and a method of upgrading an existing water heating solar system by the described module.
Control device, control method for water heater, and program
In a control device, an instruction acquirer acquires an instruction to suppress in a specified period supplying of generated power generated by power generator installed in a power-consuming area to a commercial electrical power system. Upon the instruction acquirer acquiring the instruction, a water heater controller commands a water heater installed in the power-consuming area to perform a water heat-up operation when a predetermined condition is satisfied in the specified period.
Energy storage system
The invention relates to an energy storage system for storing heat and coldness and for providing electrical energy, characterized by an energy converter, wherein the energy converter is designed to produce electrical energy from heat and coldness and to produce heat and coldness from electrical energy, the energy converter being in heat-transferring contact with a hot heat exchanger and with a cold heat exchanger, the hot heat exchanger being connected to a heat reservoir and the cold heat exchanger being connected to a coldness reservoir, and a control unit being provided, which operates the energy storage system in a first operating mode, in which heat and coldness are formed from electrical energy by means of the energy converter, and in a second operating mode, in which electrical energy is produced from heat and coldness.
Solar water heating system
Systems and methods for a thermosyphonic water heating system for a storage tank. A DC heat pump receives power from a DC power source and heats water via a heat exchanger using a thermosyphonic piping system. A passive back-flushing having a cold water inlet pipe connected to the hot water return pipe draws cold water into the storage tank through the heat exchanger. A vertical array of temperature sensors distributed throughout the storage tank monitor temperature of stored water at multiple heights and a communication unit communicates monitored data to an external control device.
Portable solar collection system and method
A portable solar collection apparatus and system describes an apparatus and system having a solar collector apparatus having a glaze and photovoltaic panel operatively coupled to a rectifier operatively coupled to a 12-volt battery and a circulation pump, the battery is operatively coupled to an inverter. The system and apparatus includes an insulator having a cold water compartment, a luke warm water compartment, and a hot water compartment. A circulation pump moves water through the rectifier and into the hot water compartment. A mixed temperature outlet receives some of the hot water mixed with cold for discharge. The outlet may be coupled to a shower head and/or stand for discharging water.
Wash and shower system
A shower system for a shower having a water supply mechanism including a hot water supply and a cold water supply. The system includes: a shower stall; an air heating and delivery mechanism for heating and delivering hot air to the shower stall and including: an air inlet, air piping, an air supply blower to produce an air flow, an air heater, and a hot air outlet. The system further includes: a shower-water piping system including: a hot and cold water mixing valve; and a water fogger nozzle disposed within the hot air outlet to thereby produce a spray of hot air and water suspension; and an air and water temperature and flow controller.
Liquid Heating Appliance
A liquid heating appliance for heating water or other liquids, suitably to a target temperature of from 55° C. to around boiling point, includes a primary heat chamber or body (heat source chamber) that is thermally insulated and which in use contains a high thermal density heat storing liquid or solid; and a secondary chamber alongside the primary chamber through which a liquid to be heated is passed in use. The appliance has a heat transfer feature to selectively transfer thermal energy from the heat-storing liquid or solid to the liquid to be heated in the secondary chamber. The secondary chamber is preferably a conduit through which the liquid to be heated is able to flow and the thus heated liquid can be delivered to a tap as hot water for a range of uses. Water may also be heated for a central heating system for space heating.
