The object of this invention is a ventilation duct unit (1), which comprises an inlet (2), an outlet (3), a flow channel (4), which extends from the inlet to the outlet, and which is delimited by a wall (5) between the inlet and the outlet, a closing part (6), which is arranged into the flow channel, and which in open position enables flow in the flow channel, and in closed position prevents flow in the flow channel, closing member (12), which as a response to detecting fire, sets the closing part (6) to a predetermined position, and an actuator (8), which moves the closing part (6) between open and closed state in order to achieve flow defined for the actuator (8) in the flow channel. In order to utilize the ventilation duct unit for controlling fire situations and sound dampening, the ventilation duct unit further comprises insulation material (14), part of which is fireproof, and which surrounds the wall (5) of the flow channel and isolates the surrounded part of the wall of the flow channel from its surroundings, and holes (18) arranged in the surrounded part of the wall of the flow channel (4), which dampen sound by leading the medium flowing in the flow channel to be in contact with insulation material (14).

Damper test switch fail-safe actuator

A firestat for providing an output for controlling an opening and closing of a fire/smoke damper. The firestat includes a fire/smoke damper test switch and an actuator configured to depress the fire/smoke damper test switch. The firestat is further configured to release the fire/smoke damper test switch in response to a depressing force applied to the actuator, wherein melting or other damage to the actuator causes a release of the test switch.

System and method for configuring, commissioning and troubleshooting an HVAC unit

There is described a system and method for configuring, commissioning and troubleshooting an HVAC unit. A unit type configuration is established based on a type of HVAC system and temperature data, humidity data, and/or indoor air quality data. A fan configuration is established based on whether a variable frequency drive fan is identified. Cooling and heating stage configurations are established based on a compressor parameter and a heating stage parameter. An available auxiliary termination is identified in response to establishing the configurations. A safety is assigned to the available auxiliary termination in response to identifying the available auxiliary termination. An IO table is provided to an HVAC controller, which includes physical input/output assignments for the terminations of the HVAC controller based on the configurations and the assigned safety. For another embodiment, the fan configuration is established based on one of a traditional stage blower fan or variable frequency drive fan.

A FIRE RESISTANT VENTILATION DUCT AND A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING AND INSTALLING SUCH VENTIALTION DUCT

A ventilation duct for a fire rated ventilation duct wall penetration has one or more metal sheets forming said duct, wherein said metal sheet duct is covered on the outside by a heat insulating material, and said duct includes elongated stiffening members located on the outside of the duct and attached to said metal sheets. The stiffening members each comprises a metal profile and at least one non-combustible bar of inorganic material. The metal profile is fixed to the metal sheet of the duct and retains the non-combustible bar by at least partly encircling the bar.
