Combining air cleaning methods for improved anti-contaminant efficacy and air cleaning arrays
Methods and systems described perform air cleaning and/or sanitization in a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and/or refrigeration (HVACR) system by detecting a concentration of airborne contaminants in a space serviced by the HVACR system. The detected concentration of airborne contaminants is determined whether it exceeds a threshold relative to a capacity of a first air cleaner. When the detected concentration of airborne contaminants exceeds the threshold, a second air cleaner is selected and enabled to be activated in the space. When the detected concentration of airborne contaminants does not exceed the threshold, the first air cleaner is selected and enabled to be activated in the space. The first air cleaner has a cleaning material different from the second air cleaner, and the first air cleaner, relative to the second air cleaner, treats the space at a lower concentration of airborne contaminants. The second air cleaner includes specifically designed cleaner modules.
AIR CONDITIONING VENTILATION SYSTEM
An air conditioning ventilation system comprising: air-intake portions 123 and exhaust portions 124 respectively provided in a plurality of rooms of a building; air-blowing sections 103 for sending wind to the air-intake portions 123; and a return zone 101 where air discharged from the exhaust portions 124 by the air-blowing sections 103 joins up; wherein the air-blowing sections 103 and an air conditioning section are placed in the return zone 101, a bathroom 106 and other rooms include ventilation intake portions 125 and ventilation exhaust section 126s to ventilate these room for exchanging air, the system includes a heat exchanging unit 111 which heat-exchanges confluence air of the plurality of rooms and the bathroom 106 and outside air, and discharges the air to outside of the rooms, and the outside air after the outside air exchanges heat with the confluence air is introduced into the return zone 101. The present invention provides the air conditioning ventilation system which prevents lifetime of the system from being shortened by dew condensation of a heat exchanging element while recovering heat during bath time, which prevents mold in the bathroom 106 by ventilation of the bathroom 106 for 24 hours, and which can always realize comfortable clean air living at all times by flow of air-conditioning air and flow of ventilation air in an entire house while saving energy.
Multi-zone variable refrigerant flow heating/cooling unit
A method for air conditioning including installing an air conditioning unit at a desired location. The air conditioning unit includes a housing that has air supply inlets and exhaust air outlets. The housing encloses a mode control unit that switches a zone coil associated with a zone from a cooling mode to a heating mode by switching from a cooling medium to a heating medium flowing through the zone coil. The zone coil receives the heating or cooling medium and conditions incoming air from a supply fan to be exhausted in a zone associated with the zone coil. A variable refrigerant flow cooling/heating unit provides a cooling medium or a heating medium at varying rates to control a temperature of a zone.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL SYSTEM
An environmental control system is provided and includes equipment to generate an environmental control effect, a damper associated with a zone to control a portion of the environmental control effect permitted to affect the zone by assuming one of various damper positions and a capacity controller operably coupled to the equipment and the damper to control operation of the equipment and to adjust the damper to assume the one of the various damper positions based on a demand of the zone and a capacity of the equipment.

A COMMUNICATION KIT
A communication kit comprising a communication module configured to communicate with a thermostat, an indoor unit, and an outdoor unit; and a controller configured to generate an operation signal to be transmitted to the indoor unit and the outdoor unit, based on a signal received from the thermostat, wherein the controller is configured to determine an operation mode of the indoor unit and the outdoor unit based on an indoor temperature when a backup function of the thermostat is executed.
Linearization of airflow through zone dampers of an HVAC system
A control system can provide a linear behavior of airflow as a function of damper position of each zone damper in an HVAC system. The control system incrementally closes each zone damper from a fully open position to a fully closed position, and records static pressure measurements with each change in damper position. Then, using a mathematical model that is derived from the second fan law, a correction is calculated for each damper position of each zone damper based on the recorded static pressure measurements to provide corrected damper positions at which the airflow through the zone damper exhibits a linear behavior. The corrected damper positions are stored and used during an operational cycle of the HVAC system to obtain a precise airflow through the zone dampers.
