SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AIR SANITIZATION
A system and method for controlling air quality within an indoor space are disclosed. An example system includes an air circulation unit that moves air through ductwork of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system and an air sanitization unit within the ductwork of the HVAC system that sanitizes air passing through the ductwork of the HVAC system. The system further includes an indoor air quality controller that controls a rate at which the air circulation unit moves the air through the ductwork of the HVAC system responsive to inputs received at the indoor air quality controller and controls an operational status of the air sanitization unit responsive to the inputs received at the indoor air quality controller.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SANITIZING AIR CONDITIONED BY A CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM
An air sanitizer unit that includes a housing, a substrate, and a light source. The substrate is provided in an interior space of the housing and includes at least one photocatalytic coating on at least one surface that extends along a flow path of airflow through the air sanitizer unit. The light source is disposed within the interior space of the housing in a way such that light produced by the light source activates the at least one photocatalytic coating to purify the airflow. Further, the substrate includes channels for allowing airflow there through, in which a substrate structure defining the channels include the photocatalytic coating and the substrate structure defining the channels is configured such that microbes in the airflow are captured on the least one photocatalytic coating at low airflow rates, in which the low airflow rates are airflow rates less than 20 air changes per hour.

Provided is an air cleaner, and more specifically, to an air cleaner in which a filter part using a photocatalyst is formed in a module type to facilitate replacement and cleaning and which includes an insert fan which is disposed inward from a suction port of a casing forming an exterior and including the suction port disposed at one side and a discharge port disposed at the other side, and suctions ambient air, a driving motor provided to be axially detachably coupled to the insert fan in a direction from the discharge port, and a suction unit fixing part in which an accommodation space, into which the insert fan and the driving motor are fixedly inserted in the direction from the suction port toward the discharge port and which is finished by inserting a cover member in the direction from the discharge port.
SAFETY MECHANISM FOR AN AIR PURIFICATION SYSTEM
In various examples, the subject matter of this disclosure relates to devices, systems, and methods for air purification systems. According to one embodiment, a multi-filtration air purification system can include a photocatalytic oxidizer (PCO) filter including an ultraviolet (UV) emitter, the PCO filter disposed within an air filter receiving region of the air purification system. In one implementation, the air purification system can include a removable air filter disposed over the PCO filter and located within the air filter receiving region, where the removable air filter can include a switch trigger. In some instances, the air filter receiving region can include a switch configured to receive the switch trigger, where the switch and switch trigger together are configured to disable operation of the air purification system when the removable air filter is removed from the air filter receiving region.
SAFETY MECHANISM FOR AN AIR PURIFICATION SYSTEM
In various examples, the subject matter of this disclosure relates to devices, systems, and methods for air purification systems. According to one embodiment, a multi-filtration air purification system can include a photocatalytic oxidizer (PCO) filter including an ultraviolet (UV) emitter, the PCO filter disposed within an air filter receiving region of the air purification system. In one implementation, the air purification system can include a removable air filter disposed over the PCO filter and located within the air filter receiving region, where the removable air filter can include a switch trigger. In some instances, the air filter receiving region can include a switch configured to receive the switch trigger, where the switch and switch trigger together are configured to disable operation of the air purification system when the removable air filter is removed from the air filter receiving region.
DEHUMIDIFICATION APPARATUS AND DEHUMIDIFICATION METHOD USING THE SAME
Provided is a dehumidification apparatus including: a storage compartment that provides an accommodation space; a circulation blower that forms an air current flowing along a circulation path connected to the accommodation space; a heat pump that exchanges heat with the air current flowing along the circulation path; and an air current diverter, wherein the heat pump includes: a first heat exchanger that absorbs heat from the air current; and a second heat exchanger that releases heat, wherein the circulation path includes a first circulation path in which the air current passes through the second heat exchanger to the accommodation space and a second circulation path in which the air current passed through the first heat exchanger is allowed to bypass the second heat exchanger and flow to the accommodation space, and wherein the air current diverter diverts the circulation path from the first circulation path to the second circulation path.
AIR CLEANER
An air cleaner capable of removing bacteria and viruses. The air cleaner includes: a main body including a suction hole through which air is introduced and a discharge hole through which air is discharged; an ultraviolet (UV) irradiation device disposed between the suction hole and the discharge hole, and including a UV light emitting diode (LED) configured to transmit ultraviolet rays toward the discharge hole; a photocatalyst filter including a photocatalyst provided to generate active oxygen by reacting with the UV rays transmitted from the UV LED, and disposed between the UV irradiation device and the discharge hole; and a light blocking member disposed between the UV LED and the suction hole to prevent the UV rays transmitted from the UV LED from being emitted to an outside of the main body through the suction hole.

Photocatalytic air cleaning structure for air cleaner, air cleaner having the air cleaning structure, and photocatalytic filter for use in the air cleaning structure
A photo catalytic filter is configured such that a plurality of plate-shaped members on which a photocatalyst is carried face each other with a gap therebetween, and the gaps form an air flow path. Each plate-shaped member has end surfaces respectively on an air entrance side and an air exit side of the gap. A UV irradiation unit faces the end surfaces on at least one of the air entrance side and the air exit side of the plate-shaped members, and is a predetermined distance away from those end surfaces. An air supply path for taking air from a lateral direction substantially parallel to the end surfaces, and supplying the air to the flow path, or an air discharge path for discharging the air exiting the flow path to a lateral direction substantially parallel to the end surfaces, is formed between the UV irradiation unit and the end surfaces of the plate-shaped members.

An air conditioning device is disclosed. The present air conditioning device comprises: a photocatalytic filter including a space through which air can pass and having a transition metal oxide formed in a nanotube form on the surface thereof, the transition metal oxide removing gases included in the air and including at least one of TiO.sub.2, ZnO, NiO, and WO.sub.3; and a light source for emitting light to the photocatalytic filter.
