WATER HEATER HAVING HIGHLY EFFICIENT AND COMPACT HEAT EXCHANGER

A water heater includes an inner water tube coil and an outer water tube coil separated by a drum baffle. The inner and outer coils extend above a top edge of the drum baffle by at least a full turn of each coil. A flue gas bypass path is defined between a top edge of the drum baffle and a top insulation layer above the inner and outer coils. Flue gases flow radially though the inner coil, up along the drum baffle, through the flue gas bypass path, and downwardly over the outer coil to heat water flowing through the inner and outer coils. The water flows into the outer coil at the bottom of the coil, winds upwardly through the outer coil in countercurrent flow with respect to the flue gases, then down through the inner coil.

Thick film heaters

The invention relates to a combination of an electrical heating element and a heat dissipater to be heated thereby; the heating element comprises a substrate, an insulating layer located on the substrate and a thick film conductor located on the insulating layer, wherein the second side of the metallic substrate is in contact with the heat dissipater, comprising a layer of metallic material on its face towards the heater and wherein the substrate is brazed to the heat dissipater and the surface of the heating element over which the thick film conductor extends, is substantially equal to the surface of the heat dissipater. The brazing leads to a permanent contact between the heating element and the heat dissipater, so that the possible tendency for warping as caused by the heating and cooling cycles will be withstood.

Hybrid heater

A water heater includes a first heater, a second heater, and a controller. The controller can enable different operational modes of the water heater, wherein only the first heater operates, only the second heater operates, or both the first and the second heaters operate. The controller can also be configured to enable a hybrid operational mode and a bypass operational mode. Further, in the different operational modes, the controller can direct water flow to at least one of a first conduit coupled to the first heater, a second conduit coupled to the second heater, and a bypass conduit. The controller can be configured to receive input signals relating to environmental conditions around the water heater and/or an aquatic system in which the water heater is installed.

Heat exchanger and method for its manufacture

A heat exchanger for heating a liquid is provided, in particular, for high-pressure cleaners, including an inner and an outer heating coil which each have a plurality of turns, and including spacers which are arranged between the inner heating coil and the outer heating coil and are distributed over the circumference of the inner heating coil. To develop the heat exchanger in such a way that it can be manufactured more cost-effectively and is highly efficient, at least one turn of the outer heating coil includes between two spacers immediately adjacent to each other a first turn section in which the radial spacing from the inner heating coil is smaller or larger than in the region of the spacers. Two methods for manufacturing such a heat exchanger are also provided.

A water heater includes a burner generating combustion gas, a heat exchanger heating water which flows through the inside, through heat exchange with combustion gas generated in the burner, a fan supplying air to the burner, and a housing storing these components. The water heater has a water entry portion in a top plate of the housing. A water supply pipe for supplying water to the inside of the heat exchanger is connected to the water entry portion. The water entry portion is arranged to be included, in a plane view, in at least one component constituting the heat exchanger and an exhaust path for combustion gas which has passed through the heat exchanger. The component is made of a material having corrosion resistance against drainage water resulting from condensation of combustion gas.
