The present invention relates to a system that allows the temperature of water inlet and outlet tubes in a water cylinder to be measured, making it possible to estimate the energy stored in the device and to estimate the times when the hot water is being used, in addition to allowing user behaviour to be predicted, anomalies in the hot water to be detected, and the power consumption of the device to be optimised. The device comprises: a water cylinder controller (100) disposed on the case; two thermocouple cables (300) for measuring the water inlet and outlet temperature in the cylinder; and an antenna (200) coupled to an antenna connector (12) in order to connect the controller (100) to another server or to the cloud, where the information is processed.

A method and system of providing hot water efficiently. A cost of heating a volume of water to a predetermined temperature in a first water heater is determined. A cost of transferring a volume of hot water from a second water heater of a network of interconnected water heaters to the first water heater is determined. Upon determining that the cost of transferring the volume of hot water from the second water heater is lower than the cost of heating the volume of water of the first water heater, the second water heater transfers at least part of the volume of hot water to the first water heater. Otherwise, the volume of water is heated to the predetermined temperature in the first water heater.

The system includes a thermal storage tank, a disinfecting device and a control unit. The control unit monitors an outlet temperature of water exiting the thermal storage tank. Further, the control unit calculates a temperature difference between a temperature threshold limit associated with the disinfecting device and the outlet temperature. The control unit transmits a first signal to the disinfecting device when the temperature difference is a positive value. The first signal operates the disinfecting device in the activation mode for heating the water to provide anti-bacterial sanitation. The control unit transmits a second signal to the disinfecting device for deactivating the disinfecting device when the temperature difference is a negative value. The sanitized water from the disinfecting device is used for conditioning an enclosure and a domestic hot water.
