NOVEL METHOD OF USING STORED SOLAR HEAT FOR WATER HEATING
A novel method is described for room heating using stored solar heat. Solar heat is stored in an insulated tank by using scrap and inexpensive heat absorbing or heat storing materials. Stored heat can then be extracted by air circulation for room heating. The temperature of the room air is controlled by a thermostat. When the room temperature drops below the set point on the thermostat, a circulating air pump turns on and extract the solar heat until the room temperature air reaches the desired set temperature. Once room temperature reaches the set point in the thermostat, the air circulation pump turns off.
Hot and cold temperature supply device
A device is provided for supplying heating and cooling, the device having a heat transfer medium arranged in the interior of a storage tank and having at least one cycle process plant operated using a working substance. The heat transfer medium has a lower temperature in a bottom region of the interior than in a region of the interior arranged thereabove. All the components of the cycle process plant that contain the working substance are arranged in the interior. The components of the cycle process plant arranged inside the storage tank are surrounded by the heat transfer medium. The heat transfer medium has constituents to bind or convert the working substance. The amount of the constituent as a proportion of the heat transfer medium is dimensioned in such a way that the working substance contained in the cycle process plant can be completely bound or converted by the constituent after an escape from the cycle process plant.

A wall mountable electric heater comprises a core 20 arranged in a casing 2 with a convection space 50 defined between opposed surfaces 47, 27′ of the casing and the core, The opposed surfaces are provided with oppositely directed protrusions 26, 44 which are spaced apart in two dimensions and arranged in-between one another to form a serpentine flowpath. The protrusions 44 in the panel 4 of the casing define recesses 43 which extend inwardly towards the core, each recess having a base wall 46 in which a perforation 48 is formed between the first and second sides 40, 41 of the panel 4, The air flowing upwardly through the convection space 50 generates a pressure differential across the first and second sides 40, 41 of the panel 4, drawing air in through the perforations to increase the mass flow rate of the air in the convection space. The base wall 46 of each recess may be spaced apart from the opposed, outwardly facing side 23 of the core by a relatively small distance D1, increasing the velocity of the airflow and hence the pressure differential proximate the perforation 48.
