System and method for monitoring hot water supply in a load control network
Disclosed is a system and method for monitoring hot water supply in a load control network, and more particularly for ensuring that there is sufficient hot water available for a customer participating in a demand response program that uses, at least in part, water heaters as a component of the demand response program. A multi-meter that is external to the water heater is used to monitor an electrical power supply circuit on the water heater, to report preferably volts, amps, and power factor of the water heater. The multi-meter may use these measured values to, in turn, determine a current charge state of the water heater and thus ensure maintenance of an adequate supply of hot water, even in times of demand response curtailment.
WATER HEATER AND METHOD OF OPERATING THEREOF
The present disclosure provides a water heater including a bypass conduit to allow flow of cold water from an inlet pipe to an outlet pipe, and an outlet temperature sensor coupled to the outlet pipe downstream of an outlet of the bypass conduit, to sense temperature of mixture of hot water and cold water in the outlet pipe. An electronic mixing valve is disposed along the inlet pipe to receive temperature data of water mixture from the outlet temperature sensor and compare temperature of the water mixture with a predefined temperature value. In response to determining that the water mixture is flowing through the outlet pipe, the electronic mixing valve regulates the flow of cold water through at least one of the bypass conduit and the inlet pipe until the temperature of the water mixture is within a predetermined range of the predefined temperature value.
INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD AND INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS
An information processing method includes: selecting M blocks as M selected blocks from among N blocks for driving at least one of an actuator or a heater included in an apparatus, in accordance with an input operation performed by an operator; generating an application, by setting the order of the M selected blocks in accordance with an input operation performed by the operator; consulting a rule that prohibits two or more given blocks from being executed in a given order, and when information included in the application that indicates the order of the M selected blocks correlates with the given order, modifying the application by changing the order in which each of the M selected blocks is executed; and outputting the modified application.

Electronic control of a dual-stage water heater in a hot-beverage vending machine
Control of temperature of water delivered by a dual-stage water heater having an external boiler with a first heater as first stage and an internal duct (water booster) with a second heater as second stage. A control loop based on a measured water temperature in the boiler and controls the first heater. A second loop calculate a reference booster water temperature based on the temperature error at the outlet (difference between a measured outlet water temperature and a reference outlet water temperature) and controls second heater based on error between reference booster water temperature and measured booster water temperature. The reference outlet water temperature depends on type of beverage (e.g. espresso, cappuccino) and includes a temperature profile with different temperature for different sub-beverages (e.g. coffee, milk). Takes into account physical response times, inertia of heater and anticipate sudden changes of reference water temperature at hot water outlet.
Heated water availability control
A water heater system includes a water heater having a first water outlet and a second water outlet. The water heater system further includes a flow detection device coupled to the first water outlet to detect a water flow through the first water outlet. The water heater system also includes a flow control valve fluidly coupled to the second water outlet. The flow control valve is configured to control a flow of water through the second water outlet based on whether the water flow through the first water outlet is detected by the flow detection device.
A DOUBLE-CIRCUIT ELECTRIC BOILER (VARIANTS)
The invention is a double-circuit electric boiler for boiling a warming heat-carrying agent and a residential hot water. A hot water supply circuit first container and a second container with an electric heater for the heat-carrying agent of a warming circuit are arranged in a housing. Outer surfaces of inner walls of the warming circuit second container are in a contact with the water of the hot water supply circuit inside the first container. The electric heater for the heat-carrying agent is isolated by the second container walls from a contact with the water of the hot water supply circuit inside the first container. Both containers have separate inlet and outlet ducts and separate isolated temperature sensors. In a second embodiment of the boiler, an electric heater having heating areas isolated by the inner walls of the second container is further mounted in the first container.
