An air conditioner comprises: a refrigerant circuit configured to circulate refrigerant through a compressor, a condenser, an LEV and an evaporator; a first temperature sensor configured to sense the temperature of liquid refrigerant at the inlet port of the evaporator; and a controller configured to control the compressor and the LEV. In a case where a temperature sensed by the first temperature sensor is lower than a frosting reference temperature, the controller increases the opening degree of the LEV and also increases the operating frequency of the compressor as compared with a case where the temperature sensed by the first temperature sensor is higher than the frosting reference temperature.

Water source heat pump head pressure control for hot gas reheat

A method of conditioning air includes controlling a secondary refrigerant flow control valve to select between a first mode in which refrigerant flows from a discharge line to a main refrigerant flow control valve, and a second mode in which refrigerant flows from the discharge line to a gas reheat heat exchanger and then flows to the main refrigerant flow control valve. A heat transfer medium flow control valve is controlled to adjust the flow of the heat transfer medium into a heat source side heat exchanger. The heat transfer medium flow control valve allows the heat transfer medium to flow to the heat source side heat exchanger when the secondary refrigerant flow control valve is in the first mode, and adjusts the flow of the heat transfer medium to the heat source side heat exchanger when the secondary refrigerant flow control valve is in the second mode.

Air conditioner

This air conditioner performs a cooling operation and a heating operation in parallel with each other with an outdoor unit and indoor units connected together through two communication pipes. The air conditioner includes a switching mechanism changing the directions of refrigerants flowing through the communication pipes depending on whether a heating dominant operation is being performed in a first load region where a cooling load is relatively light or a second load region where the cooling load is heavier than in the first load region. In the second load region, the switching mechanism allows a low-pressure refrigerant to flow from the indoor units to the outdoor unit through the second communication pipe thicker than the first communication pipe to reduce a performance deterioration due to the pressure loss involved with the heating dominant operation.

REGENERATIVE AIR CONDITIONER

To avoid decline in the efficiency of a compressor at a low load, a thermal storage air conditioner has a refrigerant circuit (11) which has a compressor (22), an outdoor heat exchanger (23), and an indoor heat exchanger (72) and performs a refrigeration cycle, and a thermal storage section (60) which has a thermal storage medium and exchanges heat between the thermal storage medium and a refrigerant of the refrigerant circuit (11). The thermal storage air conditioner performs a simple cooling operation in which in the refrigerant circuit (11), the refrigerant is condensed in the outdoor heat exchanger (23) and evaporates in the indoor heat exchanger (72), and a cooling and cold thermal energy storage operation in which in the refrigerant circuit (11), the refrigerant is condensed in the outdoor heat exchanger (23) and evaporates in the indoor heat exchanger (72), and in which the thermal storage medium in the thermal storage section (60) is cooled by the refrigerant. The thermal storage air conditioner has an operation control section (100) which, if a rotational speed of the compressor (22) is slowed down to a predetermined lower reference value in the simple cooling operation, switches an operation of the thermal storage air conditioner from the simple cooling operation to the cooling and cold thermal energy storage operation to increase the rotational speed of the compressor (22).

The outdoor heat exchanger and the outdoor heat exchanger are connected in parallel to the indoor heat exchanger via the branch portion. The flow path switching device includes a first port, a second port, and a third port. The first port is connected with a third refrigerant flow path. The second port is connected with the outdoor heat exchanger. The third port is connected with a fourth refrigerant flow path. The second port is configured to switch between a state in which the second port is connected to the first port and a state in which the second port is connected to the third port.

VARIABLE REFRIGERANT VOLUME SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

A variable refrigerant volume system and control method thereof. The variable refrigerant volume system comprises: a compressor (1); a four-way valve (19); an indoor unit; a liquid tube (22), the first end thereof being connected to the indoor unit, the second end thereof being connected to the third valve port of the four-way valve (19), and a condenser (18) being provided on the liquid tube (22); a low pressure air pipe (23), the first end thereof being connected to the indoor unit, and the second end thereof being connected to the fourth valve port of the four-way valve (19); a refrigerant adjustment tank (6), the first port thereof being connected to the liquid tube (22), the second port thereof being connected to the low pressure air pipe (23), and the third port thereof optionally communicating with the liquid tube (22) or the low pressure air pipe (23). The refrigerant adjustment tank (6) provides refrigerant to the variable refrigerant volume system when the system requires more refrigerant, and recycles refrigerant from the variable refrigerant volume system when the system requires less refrigerant. The variable refrigerant volume system can flexibly control a refrigerant recycling amount in accordance with a refrigerant operation situation, thus ensuring system reliability.
