ALL-SECONDARY AIR COOLED INDUSTRIAL STEAM CONDENSER
20170363358 · 2017-12-21 ·

A new design for large scale field erected industrial steam condensers in which all of the bundles are constructed as secondary bundles, in A-frame or V-Shape configuration, with tubes oriented 25-35 degrees from the vertical, steam fed from the bottom and condensate is collected from the bundles from the bottom using a combination/hybrid manifold that both delivers steam to the tubes and collects condensate from the tubes and which is constructed so that the condensate is prevented from returning down the steam delivery riser(s) and in which the cross-sectional dimensions of the tubes are 125 mm wide with a cross-section height of less than 10 mm with fins that are 9.25 mm in height, arranged at 9 to 12 fins per inch.

REFRIGERANT HEAT EXCHANGER

A refrigerant heat exchanger has the passage defining member. The passage defining member is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastics. The passage defining member has a tube portion defining a refrigerant passage. The passage defining member has the plate portion which spreads from the tube portion. In the tube portion, carbon fibers are oriented to surround the tube portion. This orientation contributes to a pressure resisting performance in a radial direction of the tube portion. In the plate portion, the carbon fibers are oriented to protrude from the tube portion. This orientation contributes to improve mechanical strength in the plate portion. The carbon fibers are extended over both the tube portion and the plate portion. This orientation promotes thermal transfer over the tube portion and the plate portion.

Method and apparatus for staged startup of air-cooled low charged packaged ammonia refrigeration system

An apparatus for staged startup of air-cooled low charged packaged ammonia refrigeration system includes motorized valves on condenser coil inlets, a main compressor discharge motorized valve, a bypass pressure regulator valve in the main compressor piping, and check valves on the condenser outlets. The condenser inlet motorized valves provide precise control of gas feed to the condensers, so pressure can build without collapsing oil pressure. The condenser outlet contains check valves to prevent liquid backflow during coil isolation. The compressor discharge line contains a motorized valve for regulating discharge pressure at start-up. The motorized valve in the compressor discharge piping includes a bypass with a pressure regulator for precise regulation at minimum discharge pressure. Once discharge pressure rises above the setpoint, the condenser inlet solenoid coils open one at a time. The discharge pressure regulating motorized valve simultaneously regulates the discharge pressure until the condenser maintains discharge pressure.

HEAT EXCHANGER REFRIGERANT DRAIN

A combination refrigeration displacement and drain device is disclosed that can be mounted within a heat exchanger, such as a shell and tube heat exchanger, which may be used for example as a heat exchanger in a chiller unit, which may be used in an HVAC or refrigeration system. One example of such components can include heat exchangers, such as for example a condenser employing a gravity drain. Advantageously, the combination refrigeration displacement and drain device herein can provide a refrigerant charge reduction for example that is used in the chiller unit, while facilitating drainage out of the heat exchanger. The combination refrigeration displacement and drain device can alleviate the liquid refrigerant accumulation that may normally be necessary to induce flow in a gravity drain design.

A brazed heat exchanger, for example a heat exchanger to be used in an air-conditioning system, preferably as a condenser, includes flat tubes extending between a pair of header tubes and fins arranged between the flat tubes. The components are produced from aluminum alloys, and are brazed together using an AlSi braze alloy. The aluminum alloys have a zinc content of no greater than 0.5% before brazing, and zinc from the aluminum alloys diffuses into the braze joints to result in braze joints having an average zinc content of no greater than 0.1%.
