Refrigerant with lubricating oil for replacement of R22 refrigerant
An apparatus and method wherein potential ozone layer-damaging chlorodifluoromethane (Refrigerant R-22) is substituted with a mix of less environmentally damaging refrigerants pentafluoroethane and tetrafluoroethane in chlorodifluoromethane-based air-cooling systems mainly in residential cooling. While less environmentally damaging than chlorodifluoromethane, the substitute refrigerant has a temperature-pressure relationship similar to that of chlorodifluoromethane, making the substitute refrigerant suitable for use with chlorodifluoromethane-based air-cooling systems. In this event, it is mixed with a relatively small percentage of a lubricating oil which is compatible with both the unit refrigerant and typical R-22 system design.
Refrigeration apparatus
A refrigeration apparatus includes a refrigerant circuit including: a compressor, a radiator, an expansion mechanism, and an evaporator. The refrigerant circuit encloses a refrigerant that contains a fluorinated hydrocarbon that causes a disproportionation reaction. The refrigerant circuit further includes: a discharged refrigerant recovery receiver that is connected to a path between a discharge side of the compressor and a gas side of the radiator through a discharged refrigerant branch pipe; and a discharged refrigerant relief mechanism that is disposed in the discharged refrigerant branch pipe and that connects the discharge side of the compressor with the discharged refrigerant recovery receiver when the refrigerant on the discharge side of the compressor satisfies a predetermined condition. The predetermined condition includes at least one of a first condition under which the refrigerant does not yet cause the disproportionation reaction and a second condition under which the refrigerant causes the disproportionation reaction.
INSIDE AIR-CONDITIONING DEVICE
An inside air-conditioning device includes a refrigerant circuit (50) and a refrigerant that is sealed in the refrigerant circuit (50). The refrigerant circuit (50) includes a compressor (10), a condenser (25), an electronic expansion valve (13), and an evaporator (17). The refrigerant contains at least 1,2-difluoroethylene.
Low global warming potential refrigerants in liquid chillers
A refrigeration system is disclosed. The system includes a compressor, a condenser, an expansion device, and an evaporator fluidly connected to form a refrigeration circuit. A refrigerant composition including an environmentally-suitable chiller refrigerant that has a 100 year direct global warming potential (GWP) of less than 150 is included. The refrigerant composition includes a mixture including R-1336mzz-(Z) and R-1130-(E), wherein an amount of R-1336mzz-(Z) in the mixture is in a range from at or about 69% by weight to at or about 81% by weight, and an amount of R-1130-(E) in the mixture is in a range from at or about 31% by weight to at or about 19% by weight.
Accumulator and oil separator
An accumulator and oil separator device includes a housing having a cavity, an oil separator unit disposed in the cavity and designed to separate oil from a refrigerant and oil mix received from a compressor and to output the oil into the cavity. The accumulator and oil separator device further includes an accumulator inlet tube to carry a received refrigerant into the cavity. The accumulator and oil separator device also includes an accumulator outlet tube to output the received refrigerant and the oil from the cavity.
