Heat pump utilising the shape memory effect
The invention provides a heat pump system and method comprising a Shape-Memory Alloy (SMA) or Negative Thermal Expansion (NTE) core (2a, 2b) positioned in a housing and adapted to absorb heat and store energy in response to a first fluid inputted at a first temperature. The housing is configured to receive a second fluid via an inlet wherein a device changes pressure in the housing to cause the SMA or NTE core to change state to release the heat absorbed into the second fluid. An outlet is adapted to output the second fluid at a higher temperature than the first temperature.
Adsorption air-conditioning system
An air-conditioning system which may be included in a motor vehicle may include a single pair of tube-and-plate heat exchangers arranged within a common vacuum enclosure, the heat exchangers selectively coupled with a heat source, a radiator, and an air-conditioning core. During an adsorbing/evaporating mode, coolant may circulate between a first heat exchanger and the radiator and vapor may evaporate from the surface of non-adsorbent-coated plates of the second heat exchanger and be adsorbed at adsorbent-coated plates of the first heat exchanger while coolant circulates between the second heat exchanger and the core. During a desorbing/condensing mode, coolant may circulate between a heat source and the first heat exchanger to effect desorption of vapor from the adsorbent in the first heat exchanger, while melting PCM in the core exchanges heat with air blown through the core to provide cooling.
Method for cooling and/or heating media, preferably in a motor vehicle, and a sorptive heat and cold storage system
A method and device for cooling and/or heating media, preferably in a motor vehicle, the method in which at least one first heat source is cooled and at least one second heat sink is heated by a thermal management system. In a method in which the heating or cooling can occur on demand, heat and/or cold are shifted by the thermal management system in space and time to the heat sink and/or heat source, which is characterized by need.
METHOD AND ARRANGEMENT
A method and an arrangement for recovering heat from flue gas of a boiler (10). The method comprises passing the flue gas (G) of the boiler though a flue gas cooling unit (1), cooling the flue gas (G) by transferring heat from the flue gas (G) into a circulation (3) of a flue gas cooling liquid (CL), transferring heat energy of said flue gas cooling liquid (CL) into a heat pump (2), and arranging the heat pump (2) for receiving heat energy also from a circulation arrangement (8) of a district cooling system. The heat pump (2) is coupled to a circulation arrangement (6) of a district heating system, wherein the method further comprises transferring in the heat pump (2) heat energy (H) received from said cooling liquid (CL) and from said circulation arrangement (8) of district cooling system into said circulation arrangement (6) of district heating system, for lowering the temperature of said flue gas cooling liquid (CL) and cooling fluid of said district cooling system, and raising the temperature of heating fluid of said district heating system.
Drinking water circulation device
The present invention intends to provide a drinking water circulation device (2) for cold water consumption, which is compactly accommodable in a building, universally and easily connectable to different cooling devices, easy to operate and, in addition, little failure-prone and easy to install. This drinking water circulation device (2) comprises a heat exchanger for cooling the drinking water, a return connection (24) for feeding drinking water returned from a circulation pipe into the drinking water circulation device (2), a supply connection (26) for discharging the cooled drinking water from the drinking water circulation device (2), a drinking water circulation pump (10) provided between the return connection (24) and the supply connection (26), a buffer tank (4) for a cooling medium (22), a cooling medium pump (22) provided in a cooling medium flow path between the buffer tank (4) and the heat exchanger (6), a control device (12) for controlling the cooling medium pump (8) and a supply temperature sensor (56), which is associated with the supply and is data-connected to the control device (12).
A METHOD OF SEPARATION BY SOLIDIFICATION USED IN ABSORPTION HEATING COOLING SYSTEMS WORKING WITH CRYSTALLIZATION / FREEZING / ICING METHODS
An absorption heating and cooling system having an absorber, which allows the gaseous refrigerant to be absorbed by the absorbent, condensed by its heat, and thus the liquefaction of the gaseous refrigerant while the heating operation takes place, and an evaporator that allows the liquid refrigerant to evaporate by heating and thus cooling process to be carried out, wherein a separation unit using a method of separation by solidification employed which works through the icing/crystallization/freezing methods and which enables the separation the refrigerant-absorbent mixture.
