A refrigerator including a water supplier; an ice-making housing in a storage compartment; a first tray in the ice-making housing and including a first ice-making cell, and a first sealing portion formed along an edge of the first ice-making cell; and a second tray including a second ice-making cell, and a second sealing portion formed along an edge of the second ice-making cell, wherein the second tray is movable horizontally to engage with the first tray and couple the first and second ice-making cell, and while the second tray is engaged with the first tray, the second sealing portion overlaps the first sealing portion to prevent leakage from the first and second ice-making cells, the first ice-making cell forms a first portion of ice with water from the water supplier, and the second ice-making cell forms a second portion of the ice with water from the water supplier.

An icemaker appliance includes a cabinet forming an ice storage compartment, an ice maker provided in the ice storage compartment, a first reservoir storing liquid, a filter nested within the first reservoir, and a circulation system to deliver the liquid from the first reservoir to the ice maker. The liquid not frozen on the ice maker is filtered through the filter and resupplied to the circulation system.

A method may include selecting a first set of values for a first set of parameters of one or more hardware components of an ice-making machine; identifying a water temperature at a water inlet of the ice-making machine; identifying an ambient air temperature surrounding the ice-making machine; calculating a second set of parameters of the ice-making machine based on at least a portion of the first set of values, the water temperature and the ambient temperature, the second set of parameters corresponding to operation of the ice-making machine in a freeze mode in which liquid water is cooled by an evaporator; and calculating a third set of parameters based on at least a portion of the first set of values, the water temperature and the ambient temperature, the third set of parameters corresponding to operation of the ice-making machine in a harvest mode.

A packaging for drinking water/minerals or other liquid substances for individualized ice formation is disclosed, which provides for areas of expansion of the liquid for its transformation into ice and its tubular shape without damaging the packaging, i.e. the weak sealing (3) which provides for the expansion/expansion, which will be broken at the proposed end(s) and the expansion generated in the change of state from liquid to solid will be assimilated normally by the package conformation, but limited by the strong sealing (2) and stronger (4), avoiding early package rupture, ensuring its integrity, either for storage or after frozen for consumption.

Said ice cube producing unit further comprises a displacing arrangement connecting the tray and the lid and having two positions: a first position where the lid is held in a position where it abuts the ice cube tray to seal the contents of the at least two ice cube compartment inside the compartment and a second position where the lid is held in a position where it is separated from the tray so that ice cubes formed in the tray can leave the tray.

An ice cube producing unit comprising an ice cube tray having at least two ice cube compartments, a lid which is suitable for being mounted on the tray to seal water or other liquid inside said at least two ice cube compartments. A method for freezing a liquid located in a container, in particular a liquid drug, includes exposing the container to a cooling element such as cold gas in order to freeze the liquid. The cold gas preferably flows around the container, and/or the liquid is cooled in another way in order to freeze the liquid. The container is insulated at a surface of at least one first volume portion of the container, and the container is cooled nearly immediately at a surface of a second volume portion of the container by the cold gas such that the liquid freezes through later in the at least one first volume portion than in the second volume portion.
