Refrigerator and control method thereof
A refrigerator includes: an ice maker for generating ice; an ice bin for storing the ice and including a rotational blade that is rotated in order to discharge the ice; a motor for generating power for rotating the rotational blade; a manipulation pad provided on the door of the refrigerator and manipulated to discharge the ice from the ice bin; a manipulation sensing part for detecting the manipulation of the manipulation pad; and a controller for operating the motor when the manipulation of the manipulation pad is detected by the manipulation sensing part, wherein the controller rotates the motor in one direction to discharge the ice from the ice bin and the controller rotates the motor in the other direction, which is the opposite direction of the one direction, for a set period of time when the manipulation of the manipulation pad is no longer detected.
Ice Maker with a Threaded Connection Between a Motor Shaft and an Auger
An ice maker includes a casing that defines a chamber. The casing extends between a top portion and a bottom portion. An extruder die is mounted to the casing at the top portion of the casing. A motor is positioned above the extruder die. An auger is disposed within the chamber of the casing. The auger is coupled to a shaft of the motor with a threaded connection such that the auger is rotatable with the motor along a rotational direction within the chamber of the casing. The threaded connection between the auger and the shaft of the motor is wound opposite the rotational direction of the auger. A related refrigerator appliance is also provided.
Refrigerator and control method thereof
Disclosed herein are a refrigerator includes an ice storage, a transfer member, a transfer motor coupled to the transfer member, and a controller configured to control the transfer motor to rotate the transfer member in a first rotation direction and a second rotation direction, wherein the transfer member prevents the ice cubes stored in the ice storage from agglomerating by rotating in the first rotation direction and the second rotation direction. The controller warns a user of agglomeration of the ice cubes stored in the ice storage in response to no rotation of the transfer motor sensed.
REFRIGERATOR AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
A refrigerator according to the present invention includes: an ice maker for generating ice; an ice bin for storing the ice generated by the ice maker and including a rotational blade that can be rotated in order to discharge the ice; a motor for generating power for rotating the rotational blade; a manipulation pad provided on the door of the refrigerator and manipulated to discharge the ice from the ice bin; a manipulation sensing part for detecting the manipulation of the manipulation pad; and a controller for operating the motor when the manipulation of the manipulation pad is detected by the manipulation sensing part, wherein the controller may rotate the motor in one direction to discharge the ice from the ice bin and the controller rotates the motor in the other direction, which is the opposite direction of the one direction, for a set period of time when the manipulation of the manipulation pad is not detected by the manipulation sensing part during the process of discharging the ice.
Powdered ice maker
The present invention relates to a powdered ice maker comprising: an ice-making part provided in a cylinder shape of which the inside is empty; a rotary shaft rotating around the central axis of the ice-making part; a water spraying part provided at the rotary shaft so as to spray water at an inner wall of the ice-making part while rotating; a cutter part provided at the rotary shaft so as to cut the ice formed on the inner wall of the ice-making part while rotating; a water tray rotating at the same angular velocity as that of the rotary shaft, and provided at a lower side of the water spraying part; and an ice tray provided at a lower side of the cutter part.
Appliance having an auger and contiguous evaporator compartments for making frozen food products
An appliance for producing frozen food products, such as ice cream or slush drinks, includes a cooling cylinder connected in a refrigeration circuit, the cooling cylinder including a thermally-conductive cylinder wall and end cap closing the distal end of the cylinder wall, the cylinder wall and end cap separating refrigerant on one side from product to be frozen on the other side. A divider member disposed adjacent the cylinder wall forms contiguous evaporator compartments spaced apart axially. Restrictor passages in the divider member permit communication between contiguous compartments and refrigerant first enters the first-cooled evaporator compartment at one of the axial ends and flows in series between the evaporator compartments. For fast, efficient freezing of small batches, the product to be frozen is either driven by the auger, or drains, toward the first-cooled evaporator compartment.
ICE MACHINE WITH ADJUSTABLE ICE DENSITY
A machine to continuously produce and hold ice is provided. The machine includes a compressor, an evaporator, and an auger that rotates across an outer surface of the evaporator to scrape ice forming thereon. Ice slices travel with auger rotation and neighboring ice slices coalesce together to form larger pieces of ice. A user input allows adjustment of the density of the ice produced. The controller alters compressor speed, such that a decrease in compressor speed results in an increase in the surface temperature of the evaporator and therefore slows down ice formation thereon, and an increase in compressor speed results in a decrease in the surface temperature of the evaporator and therefore speeds up the ice formation thereon. A change in ice formation speed results in a corresponding change in the rate of ice slice production and a corresponding change in density of ice produced by the machine.
Refrigerator door ice maker and dispenser with a coupling unit for motor connection between the door and the main body
A refrigerator including a main body having a storage compartment; a door rotatably coupled to the main body to open or close the storage compartment; and an icemaker and an ice bucket configured to store ice cubes produced by the icemaker. The ice bucket is provided with a feeding device to feed the ice cubes stored therein. The main body includes a driving device configured to drive the feeding device. When the door is closed, the driving device is connected to the feeding device, and when the door is opened, the driving device is disconnected from the feeding device.
