Provided is an ice-maker including an upper tray made of an elastic material, and having a plurality of upper chambers defined therein, a lower tray made of an elastic material, and having a plurality of lower chambers defined therein in contact with the plurality of upper chambers to define a plurality of spherical ice chambers, respectively, each ejector-receiving opening defined in the upper tray and opened to each of the plurality of upper chambers, an upper ejector disposed above the upper tray, wherein the upper ejector is configured to pass through the ejector-receiving opening and remove each ice from each ice chamber, a water supply for supplying water for ice-making through the ejector-receiving opening, and a driver for pivoting the lower tray, wherein a side wall extending upward along a perimeter of the plurality of lower chambers is formed on top portions of the plurality of lower chambers, wherein a chamber wall extending downward along a perimeter of the plurality of upper chambers is formed on bottom portions of the plurality of upper chambers, wherein the chamber wall is inserted into an internal space of the side wall when the lower tray is closed, and wherein a groove is defined in an outer face of the chamber wall to maintain pieces of ice frozen along a perimeter of the chamber wall in an attached state.

The auger is rotatably driven about a first axis. A first crusher roller is disposed at the second end of the auger and is coupled thereto to rotate together with the auger about the first axis. A second crusher roller is disposed on an axle extending along a second axis, the second crusher roller is freely rotatable about the axle. The second crusher roller is movable between a first position and a second position. When the second crusher roller is in the first position, the first crusher roller and the second crusher roller are spatially arranged and configured to grind the produced ice pieces into crushed ice.

Ice crushing device

The present invention provides an ice crushing device, of which a fixed ice cutter and a rotary ice cutter can cooperate to cut and process big ice cubes that enter a drum into small ice cubes. Besides, based on the operation mode that the drum rotates, the probability that crushed ice is adhered onto an inner wall of the drum can be effectively reduced. Thus, the frequency of cleaning the inner wall of the drum can be reduced.

An ice bin and scoop and related methods are disclosed. The ice bin includes a liner in an outer shell. A support plate is fitted in a space between the liner and the outer shell. The support plate has either ferromagnetic or magnetic material. The scoop has either magnetic or ferromagnetic material. The support plate is positioned so that the scoop can be supported inside the ice bin on the perimeter wall of the ice bin by a force of magnetic attraction between the support plate and the scoop. The support plate is positioned so that the scoop may be held out of contact with ice deposited in the bin and out of the path of falling ice. Molded-in-place insulation may support the support plate in the space between the liner and outer shell.
