INTEGRATED MULTICOMPONENT REFRIGERANT AND AIR SEPARATION PROCESS FOR PRODUCING LIQUID OXYGEN
A process for the production of a liquid oxygen stream and a liquid hydrocarbon-rich stream by the cryogenic rectification of an inlet air stream, including dividing the inlet air stream into a first portion, and a second portion. Cooling the first portion, and the second portion against a cooled multicomponent refrigerant circuit, thereby producing a first cooled portion, and a second cooled portion. Condensing the first cooled portion, thereby producing a condensed first portion, then introducing the condensed first portion into one or more distillation columns. Expanding the second cooled portion in a turbo-expander, thereby producing an expanded second portion, then introducing the expanded second portion within the one or more distillation columns. Producing within the one or more distillation columns at least a waste nitrogen stream, a nitrogen enriched stream, and an oxygen enriched stream.

The device comprises an oxygen purifying system, a heat exchange system, an air separation compression and expansion system, an air separation rectification system and a liquid oxygen storage system. The method comprises the following steps: first, purifying oxygen prepared by electrolyzing water by green electricity to remove impurities such as hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and water in the oxygen, then feeding the pure oxygen into the heat exchange system, performing heat exchange liquefaction to obtain liquid oxygen, coupling the liquid oxygen generated by rectification of the air separation rectification system, and obtaining pressurized oxygen through the heat exchange system and the air separation compression and expansion system.
METHOD FOR THE CAPTURE OF CARBON DIOXIDE THROUGH CRYOGENICALLY PROCESSING GASEOUS EMISSIONS FROM FOSSIL-FUEL POWER GENERATION
A cryogenic method for capturing carbon dioxide in the gaseous emissions produced from the fossil-energy combustion of solid, liquid, or gaseous fossil fuels in a power generation installation employing an OxyFuel mode of combustion. The method includes: producing essentially pure carbon dioxide under elevated pressure and at near ambient temperatures in a Carbon-Dioxide Capture Component from the carbon-dioxide content of at least a part of the gaseous emissions produced from fossil-energy fueled combustion in the Oxyfuel mode of combustion; separating atmospheric air in an Air Separation Component into a stream of liquid nitrogen and a stream of high-purity oxygen; supplying low temperature, compressed purified air to a cryogenic air separation unit (cold box) within the Air Separation Component; collecting low temperature thermal energy from coolers employed within the Carbon-Dioxide Capture Component and the Air Separation Component; and converting the collected thermal energy to electricity within a Thermal-Energy Conversion Component.
LARGE LIQUID OXYGEN AND LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS PRODUCTION PROCESS
A process for co-producing a liquid oxygen and a liquefied hydrocarbon stream, including introducing a gaseous hydrocarbon stream and a gaseous nitrogen stream into a liquefier, thereby producing a liquefied hydrocarbon stream and a liquid nitrogen stream, liquefying a gaseous oxygen stream, wherein at least a portion of the required refrigeration is obtained from the liquid nitrogen stream. Wherein the liquefied hydrocarbon stream and the liquefied gaseous oxygen stream have mass flow rates. The liquid oxygen stream may be produced in an aft separation unit, wherein at least a portion of the required refrigeration is obtained from the liquid nitrogen stream.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DECARBONIZED LNG PRODUCTION
Integration of a natural gas liquefaction system, a hydrogen production system, and power generation system to increase CO2 capture and improve overall plant efficiency. The predominantly methane endflash is sent to the hydrogen production system which produces hydrogen and CO2. The CO2 may be captured or beneficially used. At least a portion of the hydrogen produced is used to fuel gas turbines in the power generation which, in turn, provides power for the refrigeration compressor of the natural gas liquefaction system—either in the form of mechanical work or electricity.
NITROGEN PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF AMMONIA AND LIQUID HYDROGEN
A method of co-producing liquid hydrogen and ammonia, including a hydrogen generator, a nitrogen generator, and a HLU is presented. The method includes pressurizing a hydrogen stream from the hydrogen generator in a hydrogen compressor, dividing the pressurized hydrogen into at least a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first portion includes at least part of the flow of a first refrigeration cycle in the HLU, and the second part comprises at least part of the feed to an ammonia plant. The method also includes pressurizing a nitrogen stream from the nitrogen generator in a HP nitrogen compressor, dividing the pressurized nitrogen stream into at least a first part and a second part, wherein the first part comprises at least part of the flow of a second refrigeration cycle in the HLU, and the second part comprises at least part of the feed to the ammonia plant.
HIGH ENERGY RECOVERY NITRIC ACID PROCESS USING LIQUID OXYGEN CONTAINING FLUID
A novel concept for a high energy and material efficient nitric acid production process and system is provided, wherein the nitric acid production process and system, particularly integrated with an ammonia production process and system, is configured to recover a high amount of energy out of the ammonia that it is consuming, particularly in the form of electricity, while maintaining a high nitric acid recovery in the conversion of ammonia to nitric acid. The energy recovery and electricity generation process comprises pressurizing a liquid gas, such as air, oxygen and/or N.sub.2, subsequently evaporating and heating the pressurized liquid gas, particularly using low grade waste heat generated in the production of nitric acid and/or ammonia, and subsequently expanding the evaporated pressurized liquid gas over a turbine. In particular, the generated electricity is at least partially used to power an electrolyzer to generate the hydrogen needed for the production of ammonia. The novel concepts set out in the present application are particularly useful in the production of nitric acid based on renewable energy sources.
