Textile fiber drying
A method and a fiber-treatment system dry wet or damp fibers. A fiber mat (13) including wet or damp fibers is formed on a treatment band (31) which is moved in a conveying direction (x). An air flow (36, 36a) composed of heated drying air is generated in the fiber dryer (30). Linters (16) possibly produced by any moving fibers are captured by a filter band (32) arranged above the treatment band, which is also moved in the conveying direction (x). At the outlet of the fiber dryer, the fibers are detached from a support (17) formed on the filter band, in particular when guiding the detached fibers back towards the dried fibers guided to the treatment band (31, 31c).

Method for baking a continuous mat of mineral or plant fibers
A method for baking a continuous mat of mineral or plant fibers successively includes application of an aqueous solution, containing a binder diluted in the solution, onto mineral or plant fibers, shaping of the fibers to form a continuous mat on a conveyor in motion, and heating the mat in movement through an oven by a hot air flow at a temperature higher than the curing temperature of the binder. Furthermore, at least partial drying of the mat is carried out before entry into the oven. The at least partial drying includes irradiation of the mat in movement with radiofrequency electromagnetic waves whose frequency lies between 3 MHz and 300 GHz.
MULTI-PASS DRYING PROCESS FOR A WET SUBSTANCE
A multi-pass drying process for a wet substance is disclosed. Said multi-pass drying process comprises the steps of passing the wet substance through at least two different drying stages to produce a semi-dried product between the drying stages, with stirring and ventilating the semi-dried product between each drying stage, wherein the wet substance or the semi-dried product is subjected to compression while being heated in at least one of the drying stages. The multi-pass process ensures a high degree of control over the final dried product and allows certain flexibility to ensure higher throughput. Such a multi-pass drying process is suitable when seeking to obtain food products such as dried food premix or food ingredients, where the final dried product needs to be of high dryness to attain longer shelf life, high nutritional content, strong aroma and to be superior in other organoleptic properties.
