EXPANSION CONSTRAINT ASSEMBLY AND RELATED METHODS
An expansion constraint assembly can be attached to the exterior of a kiln cylinder. The expansion constraint assembly may include an outer constraining structure, an inner circular structure, and support structures extending between the inner circular structure and the outer constraining structure. The support structures may extend at an offset angle away from a radial direction of the outer constraining structure. The expansion constraint assembly may also include additional rings disposed between the inner circular structure and the outer constraining structure. The expansion constraint assembly can constrain asymmetric expansion of the kiln cylinder, for example, by relieving uniform expansion as a rotational shift, while restraining asymmetric expansion via tensile and compressive stresses in inter-connecting members.

Rotary Kiln and Method for Burning Carbonate-Containing Material, In Particular Limestone or Dolomite
The present invention relates to a rotary kiln for burning carbonate-containing material, in particular limestone or dolomite, including a rotary tube having an inlet end for feeding the material to be burned and an outlet end for discharging the burnt material, and a burner unit arranged in the region of the outlet end, the rotary tube having an inlet zone at its inlet end and an outlet zone at its outlet end, a preheating zone and a combustion zone being arranged between the inlet zone and outlet zone in the direction of transport of the material. The rotary kiln is characterized according to the invention in that at least one projection is arranged in the outlet zone of the rotary tube, the at least one projection having a contour tapering in the direction of rotation of the rotary tube. The present invention further relates to a method for burning carbonate-containing material, in particular limestone or dolomite.
Kiln comprising a protective segment at the kiln outlet
A kiln for firing cement clinker may include a tubular rotary drum that can be rotated about its central axis. The tubular rotary drum may have a discharge end at which the cement clinker leaves the kiln. A protective segment may be attached at the discharge end and may have an outward-facing wear surface and an inward-facing cooling surface. The kiln may include a cooling device for generating a cooling air flow that flows along the inward-facing cooling surface of the protective segment. The inward-facing cooling surface can include profile bodies that are pin-shaped. The profile bodies may be uniformly spaced apart, parallel to one another, and/or present over 20% to 60% of the inward-facing cooling surface.
PYROLYSIS FURNACE WITH EXTERNAL HEATING FOR PROCESSING SOLID CARBONCARBON-CONTAINING MATERIALS (VARIANTS)
A pyrolysis furnace having a heating chamber which surrounds a cylindrical pyrolysis chamber. The heating chamber is assembled from an upper part and a lower part, which can be joined. Each part of the heating chamber is provided with two rows of heating elements, which are arranged along the length of the housing of the heating chamber symmetrically relative to a vertical plane passing through the axis of the pyrolysis chamber. The heating elements are in the form of units, containing at least one flameless gas burner. The heating elements in the upper part of the heating chamber are arranged in a checkerboard fashion relative to the heating elements in the lower part. The furnace relates to power generation and the environment and is intended for the thermal processing of solid and free-flowing materials, particularly in processes for the pyrolysis of solid carbon-containing materials, including municipal and domestic waste.
