Furnace floor protection in recovery boilers
A method and apparatus for protecting a furnace floor of a black liquor recovery boiler, where the furnace floor is covered by a protective layer, the protective layer being formed of a salt mixture including at least two different salts.
REFRACTORY LAYER FOR INSULATION AND CONDUCTION IN INDUSTRIAL FURNACES
An industrial furnace for melting materials is provided. The industrial furnace includes metal components, a refractory shell, and a fill. The refractory shell is positioned to cover an inner surface of the metal components such that one or more pockets are defined between the metal components and the refractory shell. The refractory shell has an inner surface that substantially defines a melting bath in which the materials are deposited for melting. The fill is disposed in each of the pockets. 90% to 99.5% of the fill is composed of one or more magnesia materials selected from the group consisting of dead-burned magnesia and fused magnesia.
Electric furnace
The present invention provides an electric furnace including: a cylindrical furnace wall; a furnace cover that is provided at an upper end of the furnace wall; and a furnace bottom that is provided at a lower end of the furnace wall and includes a deep bottom portion and a shallow bottom portion as a region having a height of 150 mm to 500 mm from a deepest point of the deep bottom portion, in which a slag pouring port into which molten slag or a solidified slag lump is capable of being poured from a slag transport container directly or through a tilting trough is provided, the slag pouring port overlaps the shallow bottom portion in a plan view, and the area ratio of the shallow bottom portion to the furnace bottom in a plan view is 5% to 40%.
Ladle bottom and ladle
A ladle bottom being part of a metallurgical ladle for treating a metal melt as well as a corresponding metallurgical ladle.
REFRACTORY RING STRUCTURE AND RELATED METHOD
A refractory ring structure for forming a section of an inner wall or liner of a metallurgical vessel is provided. The refractory ring structure comprises a continuous top surface; a continuous bottom surface; a continuous arcuate inner surface extending from the top surface to the bottom surface and defining a cavity; a continuous arcuate outer surface opposite the inner surface and extending between the top surface and the bottom surface; and a continuous protrusion or a plurality of protrusions extending from the inner surface for lifting the ring structure. The refractory ring structure comprises a heat resistant, refractory material suitable for use in the inner wall of a metallurgical vessel. Also provided herein are a metallurgical vessel comprising a refractory ring structure as disclosed herein, and a method for providing or replacing all or a section of a refractory inner wall or liner of a metallurgical vessel.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REPAIRING A COKE OVEN
A system and method for repairing a coke oven having an oven chamber formed from ceramic bricks. A representative system includes a insulated enclosure insertable into the oven chamber and includes removable insulated panels that define an interior area for workers to work in. The insulated enclosure is movable between an expanded configuration and a compact configuration and moving the enclosure to the expanded configuration will decrease the distance between the insulated enclosure and the walls of the oven chamber. Removing the panels exposes the ceramic bricks and allows workers within the interior area to access and the bricks and repair the oven chamber while the oven chamber is still hot. A loading apparatus lifts and inserts the insulated enclosure into the oven chamber. The insulated enclosure can be coupled to additional insulated enclosures to form an elongated interior area.
Workpiece Processing Apparatus with Thermal Processing Systems
A processing apparatus for a thermal treatment of a workpiece is presented. The processing apparatus includes a processing chamber, a workpiece support disposed within the processing chamber, a rotation system configured to rotate the workpiece support, a gas delivery system configured to flow one or more process gases into the processing chamber from the a first side of the processing chamber, one or more gas exhaust ports for removing gas from the processing chamber such that a vacuum pressure can be maintained, one or more radiative heating sources disposed on the second side of the processing chamber, one or more dielectric windows disposed between the workpiece support and the one or more radiative heating sources, and a workpiece temperature measurement system configured at a temperature measurement wavelength range to obtain a measurement indicative of a temperature of a back side of the workpiece.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THERMAL OR THERMO-CHEMICAL TREATMENT OF MATERIAL
A device for thermal or thermo-chemical treatment, in particular calcination, of material, in particular battery cathode material, having a housing and a process chamber in the housing, in which there is a process chamber atmosphere during the treatment and which defines a conveying level. The material, or carrying structures loaded with the material, at the conveying level can be conveyed in a conveying direction into and/or through the process chamber by a conveying system. An entry airlock gate defines an inlet level and includes an airlock gate chamber, an airlock gate inlet and an airlock gate outlet, as well as an inlet conveyor which is designed so that the material or carrying structures loaded with the material at the inlet level can be conveyed through the airlock gate inlet and into the airlock gate chamber. The conveying level and the inlet level are different from one another. A method for thermal or thermo-chemical treatment, in particular calcination, of material, in particular battery cathode material, in which the material or carrying structures loaded with the material at the conveying level and the inlet level are conveyed at different heights.
