SIDE-SUPPORTED CANTILEVER FURNACE ROOF
Disclosed herein is a metallurgical furnace and roof for the same. The roof has a body. The body has a top surface having a center. The top surface has a center opening disposed about the center. The body has a bottom surface opposite the top surface. An outer sidewall connects the top surface to the bottom surface. The outer sidewall, bottom surface and top surface define an interior portion, wherein the outer sidewall has a lift side and a hood side. An internal spray cooling system is disposed in the interior portion of the body. Lift brackets are disposed on the top surface. The lift brackets are configured to support the entire weight of the roof when suspended by a crane, wherein all the lift brackets are disposed in a first segment of the roof.
Thermal shielding system
A thermal shielding system for thermally shielding a batch space of high-temperature furnaces includes at least one shielding element. The shielding element has an encasing wall formed of refractory metal sheet(s) and a ceramic material accommodated in the wall. The ceramic material is present in a particulate and/or fibrous structure and it is based on zirconium oxide (ZrO.sub.2)

METALLURGICAL FURNACE HAVING AN INTEGRATED OFF-GAS HOOD
An apparatus is disclosed for a metallurgical furnace having a roof with an integrated off-gas hood. The roof has a hollow metal roof. The hollow metal roof has a top, a bottom, an outer sidewall and an inner sidewall. An opening extends from the top to the bottom and is defined by the inner sidewall. The opening is configured for one or more electrodes to pass therethrough. An enclosed space is defined between the top, the bottom, the inner sidewall and the outer sidewall. A spray-cooled system is disposed in the enclosed space and configured to spray coolant in the enclosed space on the bottom surface of the hollow metal roof. A channel having walls is disposed through the enclosed space, wherein the spray-cooled system extends between the top of the hollow metal roof and the wall of the channel.
REFRACTORY FURNACE STRUCTURE
A high-temperature containment structure includes a roof assembly including at least one layer of refractory material that includes a first layer of refractory material, a plurality of sidewalls, a plurality of pockets disposed in the first layer of ceramic refractory material, each pocket including a retainer that is spaced apart from sides of the pocket by gaps when the roof assembly is at room temperature, an upper plate disposed above the first layer of refractory material, and a first plurality of suspension rods that pass through first holes in the at least one layer of refractory material and the upper plate, wherein the plurality of suspension rods mechanically couple the retainers to the upper plate to retain the at least one layer of refractory material. The structure can use materials with different thermal expansion rates without cracking at elevated temperatures.
MODULAR ENCLOSURE STRUCTURE OF HIGH TEMPERATURE HEATING FURNACE AND INSTALLATION METHOD
A modular structure wall of a high-temperature furnace, which greatly increases the radiation coefficient of the inner wall, enhances heat transfer efficiency, saves energy, reduces emissions, slows aging, and prolongs the furnace wall service life. The modular wall comprises preset furnace wall main trusses and a furnace roof truss. Connecting I-beams are respectively fixed on the bottom surface of the roof truss. Top clamping structures of hoisting outer screws are hooked with the bottoms of the I-beams. Upper surfaces of ceramic fiber cotton modules are uniformly distributed with upwardly convex hoisting outer screws. The ceramic fiber cotton modules are installed on the lower surface of the roof truss through the outer screws. A ceramic fiber cotton felt is laid in the gap between these modules and the lower I-beam surfaces, and a furnace wall inner protective lining is installed on the lower surfaces of the ceramic fiber cotton modules.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REPAIRING A COKE OVEN
A system and method for repairing a coke oven having an oven chamber formed from ceramic bricks. A representative system includes a insulated enclosure insertable into the oven chamber and includes removable insulated panels that define an interior area for workers to work in. The insulated enclosure is movable between an expanded configuration and a compact configuration and moving the enclosure to the expanded configuration will decrease the distance between the insulated enclosure and the walls of the oven chamber. Removing the panels exposes the ceramic bricks and allows workers within the interior area to access and the bricks and repair the oven chamber while the oven chamber is still hot. A loading apparatus lifts and inserts the insulated enclosure into the oven chamber. The insulated enclosure can be coupled to additional insulated enclosures to form an elongated interior area.
