The heating elements are in the form of units, containing at least one flameless gas burner. The heating elements in the upper part of the heating chamber are arranged in a checkerboard fashion relative to the heating elements in the lower part. The furnace relates to power generation and the environment and is intended for the thermal processing of solid and free-flowing materials, particularly in processes for the pyrolysis of solid carbon-containing materials, including municipal and domestic waste.

Provided is a sealing structure for a horizontal rotary pyrolysis kiln. A movable heat-insulation sealing ring is disposed such that a heat-insulation cavity is formed between the movable heat-insulation sealing ring and a flexible sealing mechanism. The heat-insulation cavity can effectively block the heat dissipated from a kiln tail cover and a kiln tail, thereby effectively reducing the ambient temperature of the flexible sealing mechanism in the heat-insulation cavity. In this way, the service life of the flexible sealing mechanism is prolonged, and the effectiveness of sealing is thus ensured.

One or more heating elements detachably coupled to the one or more graphite electrodes are enabled to receive electric power and uniformly heat the powdered coke.
