Methods and Devices for Heating or Cooling Viscous Materials

Methods and devices heat or cool viscous materials, such as meat emulsions useful for producing food and other products. The devices have a heat exchanger including a first plate, a second plate attached to the first plate, and a first spacer and a second spacer arranged between the first plate and the second plate. The first plate, the second plate, the first spacer, and the second spacer define at least one temperature controlled passage for a product to pass through the heat exchanger.

Grain refrigerator

The present invention relates to a grain refrigerator including a housing having a grain storage space formed thereon to discharge grains stored therein, a fixing rod located at the center of the inside lower portion of the housing, dew condensation prevention means fixed to the fixing rod, a support plate located on a top periphery of the dew condensation prevention means, an evaporator disposed on the support plate to generate cool air, and a cooling tube disposed on a top periphery of the support plate on the outside of the evaporator to cool the grains, wherein a first pipe and a second pipe connected to the lower portion of the evaporator pass through a through hole of the support plate and a first drain hole of the dew condensation prevention means and are thus exposed to the outside of the housing.

PORTABLE GRAIN CONDITIONERS

Potentially off-grid grain conditioners that can be operably connected to an aeration grain bin or silo to blow heated air through the crop to dry the crop or to blow ambient temperature air through the crop to cool it are disclosed. A fan is powered by a motor that may be mounted inside the air stream to allow the heat from the motor to be collected and forced into the airstream that is blown into the grain bin. The engine exhaust may be routed through an air exchanger to remove heat from the exhaust and direct heat into the grain bin, or the exhaust may be put into the atmosphere without capturing any of the heat, which allows the fan to operate in a cooling mode. The motor may be mounted inline or mounted to the side for a centrifugal aeration fan.

Beverage dispensers with heat exchangers

A method for cooling a mixed beverage formed with one or more beverage components includes circulating a refrigerant through a heat exchanger having a phase change material to cool a beverage component and sensing a temperature of the refrigerant. The method further includes detecting a first instance when the sensed temperature of the refrigerant equals a threshold refrigerant temperature, detecting a second instance when the sensed temperature of the refrigerant equals the threshold refrigerant temperature, and stopping circulation of the refrigerant when the second instance is detected.

BEVERAGE CAN COOLER

In accordance with the principals of the present invention, a cold tube is adapted to securely surround the beverage can, the cold tube utilizing high heat capacity/thermal mass to wick heat from the beverage in the beverage can. Contained within the cold tube, a plurality of fins are provided thus acting as a heatsink. The presence of the fins act as a heatsink by increasing convective, conductive, and radiative heat dissipation if used in the absence of the cold tube and conductive heat dissipation if used with the cold tube.

PIPE TEMPERATURE ADJUSTING SYSTEM AND PIPE TEMPERATURE ADJUSTING METHOD

A pipe temperature adjusting system includes: a liquid conducting pipe; a heat-insulating cover covering the liquid conducting pipe in such a manner as to define a cylindrical space between the heat-insulating cover and the liquid conducting pipe; a heat exchange flow path disposed in the cylindrical space and along the liquid conducting pipe and allowing a heat exchange medium to flow through the heat exchange flow path; and a pump configured to supply the heat exchange medium into the heat exchange flow path. Covering the liquid conducting pipe with the cylindrical space and causing the heat exchange medium to flow through the heat exchange flow path in the cylindrical space adjusts the internal temperature of the cylindrical space to thereby adjust the temperature of the liquid conducting pipe.

Steam injection heater with integrated cleaning mechanism

A direct contact steam injection heater that includes a stem plug that is rotatable over 360°. The stem plug is connected to an actuator that is operable to rotate the stem plug over 360° of rotation during both the heating function of the steam injection heater and during a clean-in-place process. The stem plug includes a regulating head having a pair of sealing inserts formed on each of a pair of sealing faces. The sealing inserts are biased outward into contact with an inner surface that includes the steam injection nozzles. As the regulating head rotates between a closed position and an open position, the nozzles are exposed to allow steam to flow into the product being heated. The regulating head further includes a pair of foils. During the clean-in-place operation, the foils create a turbulent flow of cleaning liquid within the steam chamber.

Seal and a tubular heat exchanger using such seal

A seal including a first portion having a first width that extends in a radial direction of the seal, a second portion that is joined with the first portion and having a second width that is smaller than the first width, and a first recess that is located in the first portion to reduce a width expansion of the first portion when the seal is compressed in an axial direction of the seal.
