20230015520 · 2023-01-19 ·

A data plate assembly for installation with a plate heat exchanger. The data plate assembly includes a monitoring device assembled with a spacer plate. The spacer plate includes inlet and/or outlet holes, and a port that extends from an outer edge of the spacer plate to one of the inlet and/or outlet holes. The port retains the monitoring device therein such that the monitoring device extends into the inlet and/or outlet holes to monitor characteristics of the process and cooling fluids flowing through the holes and the plate heat exchanger. As the performance of the plate heat exchanger degrades, the characteristics accumulated over a period of time may provide an indication that the performance of the plate heat exchanger is degrading and/or the rate in which the performance of the plate heat exchanger degrades.

The thermal diffusion unit has a plurality of plates assembled in a parallel configuration, including a pair of heating plates having a heating fluid gap extending therebetween and a pair of cooling plates having a cooling fluid gap extending therebetween. A diffusion sheet is positioned between the pair of heating plates and the pair of cooling plates, such that the diffusion sheet interfaces on a first side with one of the heating plates and interfaces on an opposite side with one of the cooling plates. The diffusion sheet includes a plurality of interconnected thermal diffusion cells arranged in a repeating pattern, at least one heated passage fluidly connecting adjacent thermal diffusion cells, and at least one cooled passage fluidly connecting adjacent thermal diffusion cells.

PORTABLE GRAIN CONDITIONERS

Potentially off-grid grain conditioners that can be operably connected to an aeration grain bin or silo to blow heated air through the crop to dry the crop or to blow ambient temperature air through the crop to cool it are disclosed. A fan is powered by a motor that may be mounted inside the air stream to allow the heat from the motor to be collected and forced into the airstream that is blown into the grain bin. The engine exhaust may be routed through an air exchanger to remove heat from the exhaust and direct heat into the grain bin, or the exhaust may be put into the atmosphere without capturing any of the heat, which allows the fan to operate in a cooling mode. The motor may be mounted inline or mounted to the side for a centrifugal aeration fan.

A two-pass heat exchanger with calibrated bypass is disclosed for cooling heat-generating substrates and/or for heating a heat transfer fluid. The heat exchanger has first and second outer plate walls and an intermediate plate wall located between and spaced from the outer plate walls in the thickness dimension of the heat exchanger, and with inlet and outlet ports at the same end. An input flow passage is defined between the first outer plate wall and the intermediate plate wall, and a return flow passage is defined between the second outer plate wall and the intermediate plate wall. The first and second fluid flow passages are in a U-flow, stacked arrangement. At least one bypass opening extends through the intermediate plate wall between the input and return flow passages, and configured to permit a portion of the heat transfer fluid to bypass portions of the input and return flow passages.

A flow path tube of a heat exchanger includes an inner fin having a meander shape in which a one-side top part and an other-side top part are alternately arranged via an intermediate part. The intermediate part includes a communication part with a communication port that communicates the adjacent fine flow paths. A one-side wall part is extended from the one-side top part, which is adjacent on one side, to the communication part and separates the adjacent fine flow paths. An other-side wall part is extended from the other-side top part, which is adjacent on the other side, to the communication part and separates the adjacent fine flow paths. An edge of the one-side wall part is formed such that an edge of the other-side wall part is shifted in parallel in the longitudinal direction of the flat cross sectional shape of the flow path tube.
