MANIFOLDING FOR MONOLITHIC REDUNDANT LOOP COLD PLATE UTILIZING ADJACENT THERMAL FEATURES
The monolithic redundant loop cold plate core includes a core structure and a first cooling loop formed in the core structure. The first cooling loop including: a plurality of first cooling loop passageways extending across a heat exchanger core in one or more passes. The one or more passes include at least a first pass. The monolithic redundant loop cold plate core includes a second cooling loop formed in the core structure. The second cooling loop includes: a plurality of second cooling loop passageways extending across the heat exchanger core in the one or more passes. The plurality of first cooling loop passageways are intermixed in an alternating side-by-side arrangement with the plurality of second cooling loop passageways in a single cooling plane. The monolithic redundant loop cold plate core is a single piece including a unitary structure.
Heat exchanger with build powder in barrier channels
An additively manufactured heat exchanger configured to transfer heat between a first fluid and a second fluid includes a first channel with a first wall configured to port flow of a first fluid and a second channel with a second wall configured to port flow of a second fluid. The heat exchanger also includes a barrier channel containing unprocessed build powder provided by the additive manufacturing process and is located between the first wall and the second wall. The barrier channel is configured to prevent mixing of the first fluid and the second fluid when one of the first wall and the second wall ruptures.
Two-orientation condenser for enhanced gravity driven film condensation
An enhanced gravity-driven, thin film condensation heat transfer condenser is disclosed for use in a thermosyphon performing in two perpendicular orientations, as well as orientations in between. The thermosyphon includes an evaporator fluidly coupled to a first condenser configured with a plurality of fins, with each of the plurality of fins having notches adjacent to flanges, the notches forming vapor flow channels through the plurality of fins. The first condenser is fluidly coupled to a second condenser, and vapor flowing from the evaporator must first pass through the first condenser before entering the second condenser.

An additively manufactured heat exchanger configured to transfer heat between a first fluid and a second fluid includes a first channel with a first wall configured to port flow of a first fluid and a second channel with a second wall configured to port flow of a second fluid. The heat exchanger also includes a barrier channel containing unprocessed build powder provided by the additive manufacturing process and is located between the first wall and the second wall. Stackable core system for producing cast plate heat exchanger
A method of forming a cast heat exchanger plate includes forming at least one hot core plate defining internal features of a one piece heat exchanger plate and at least one first set of interlocking features. At least one cold core plate is formed defining external features of the heat exchanger plate and at least one second set of interlocking features. A core assembly is assembled wherein each hot core plate is directly interlocked to the at least one cold core plate. A wax pattern is formed with the core assembly. An external shell is formed over the wax pattern. The wax pattern is removed to form a space between the core assembly and the external shell. The space is filled with a molten material and cures the molten material. The external shell is removed. The core assembly is removed. A core assembly for a cast heat exchanger is also disclosed.
Modular Heating Unit
Apparatus, systems, and methods for a modular heating unit that may be adapted to be inline with a pipeline. The unit includes a base member having a main inlet pipe, a header, and pipes connecting the main inlet pipe with the header. A combustion chamber is positioned within the pipes. One or more heat exchangers are connected to the header. The heat exchangers each having a top surface, bottom surface, plurality of fins, inlet ring, inlet port, outlet ring, and outlet port. The modular heating unit includes external inlet and outlet pipes. A first flow path enables fluid to flow from the header into the one or more heat exchangers. An exit flow path connected to the external outlet pipe connects the one or more heat exchangers to an exit port with a portion of the exit flow path being positioned above the one or more heat exchangers.
HEAT EXCHANGER INCLUDING PASSAGEWAYS
A heat exchanger includes a core defining a first passageway and a second passageway. The core includes a plurality of unit cells coupled together. Each unit cell of the plurality of unit cells includes a first wall and a second wall. The second wall is spaced from the first wall. The first wall at least partially defines a first passageway portion and a second passageway portion. The second wall at least partially defines the second passageway portion. The second wall extends about the first wall such that the first passageway portion is nested within the second passageway portion.
