Enthalpy exchanger
A heat and humidity exchanger comprises panels made up of membrane sheets attached on either side of a separator. Channels extend across each panel between the separator and the membrane sheets. The panels are much stiffer than the membrane sheets. Panels are stacked in a spaced apart relationship to provide an ERV core. Spacing between adjacent panels may be smaller than a thickness of the panels.
COOLANT FLOW DISTRIBUTION USING COATING MATERIALS
Electronic devices are disclosed including hydrophobic or oleophobic coatings that control coolant flow therein or thereon. In at least one embodiment, a power inverter cold plate is provided including coolant inlet, a coolant outlet, a coolant flow spreading region, a coolant flow collection region, and a coolant heat-transfer region disposed therebetween; and one or more layers of a hydrophobic or oleophobic coating configured to control a flow of coolant in the cold plate. A method may include applying one or more layers of a hydrophobic or oleophobic coating to a power inverter cold plate to control a flow of coolant in the cold plate, the one or more layers being applied to one or more of a coolant flow spreading region, a coolant flow collection region, or a coolant heat-transfer region disposed therebetween. The layers may define coolant flow paths, eliminate recirculation zones, and/or prevent coolant leak paths.
Nanostructure Coating Materials and Methods of Use Thereof
Nanostructured coating materials, methods of their production, and methods of use in a variety of applications are described. The nanostructured materials described herein include one or more 2.sup.+ and/or 3.sup.+ metal ion(s), optionally in a ternary phase, on a substrate.
Functionalized Textile Compositions and Artilces
Functionalized textile materials are provided. At least a portion of a textile surface in includes a ceramic material, such as a binderless porous structured ceramic, and optionally, one or more functional layer is applied, resulting in a textile material with one or more desirable functional properties, such as hydrophilicity, hydrophobicity, flame retardancy, photocatalysis, anti-fouling, and/or deodorant properties.
HEAT EXCHANGER COATING COMPOSITION
A heat exchanger coating composition includes an aqueous dispersion having a water-repellent resin containing spherical particles with an average particle size of 2 μm or more and 50 μm or less.
Microchannel heat exchanger structure with nozzle and working method thereof
A microchannel heat exchanger structure with a nozzle and a working method thereof. The microchannel heat exchanger structure with a nozzle, includes a first heat exchange portion, a second heat exchange portion, and at least one nozzle portion between the first heat exchange portion and the second heat exchange portion, the first heat exchange portion having a high-pressure heat exchange channel, a first micro-fin array being provided inside the high-pressure heat exchange channel, and the second heat exchange portion having a low-pressure heat exchange channel, the high-pressure heat exchange channel and the low-pressure heat exchange channel being in communication through at least one nozzle disposed in the nozzle portion. The heat exchanger structure has a good heat exchange effect and can achieve a better heat flux during heat exchange.
Modified surface for condensation
The present invention relates to a method of enhancing heat transfer of metallic surfaces by (1) fabricating hierarchical micro-nanostructured surfaces using etching processes, and (2) fabricating hydrophobic and hydrophilic regions, using a printing or a coating technique, followed by etching. The said method enhances the density of condensation sites over a metallic surface and additionally facilitates the departure of condensed droplets from the surface. Such a surface also enhances the sensible heat transfer characteristics, and improves the coefficient of performance (COP) of refrigeration systems for applications like atmospheric water generators, dehumidifiers, air conditioners, etc.
Heat and mass transfer component comprising a lubricant-impregnated surface
A heat and mass transfer component comprises a lubricant-impregnated surface including hydrophobic surface features, which comprise nanostructured surface protrusions having a hydrophobic species attached thereto. The hydrophobic surface features are impregnated with a fluorinated lubricant having a viscosity in a range from about 400 mPa.Math.s to about 6000 mPa.Math.s. A method of fabricating a lubricant-impregnated surface on a heat and mass transfer component comprises: cleaning a thermally conductive substrate to form a cleaned substrate; exposing the cleaned substrate to a hot water or hot alkaline solution to form a thermally conductive substrate having nanostructured surface protrusions; depositing a hydrophobic species on the nanostructured surface protrusions to form hydrophobic surface features; and coating the hydrophobic surface features with a fluorinated lubricant having a viscosity in a range from 400 mPa.Math.s to 6000 mPa.Math.s. The heat and mass transfer component may exhibit a substantial increase in heat transfer coefficient during hydrocarbon condensation.
Shell and tube condenser and the heat exchange tube of a shell and tube condenser (variants)
A heat exchange apparatus, and more particularly a condenser device, is provided. The condenser includes a housing with tubes that have grooves on the outer surface thereof, baffles, and inlet and outlet manifolds for tube-side and shell-side heat transfer fluids. An outside of each of the tubes is coated with a material having a low wetting coefficient. The baffles of the condenser are formed so, and the that the distance between the baffles decreases from the shell-side heat transfer fluid inlet manifold to the shell-side heat transfer fluid outlet manifold. The inner surfaces of the tubes have protuberances thereon and are coated with a material having a high adhesion resistance coefficient.
