A rotatable spur for a handgun, rotatable with respect to the hammer body, and rotatable in a direction that is about an axis of rotation approximately parallel with the handgun body and barrel. The mechanism of rotation may be varied provided the spur is capable of changing the direction of its finger grip surface from its normal firing position to a position preferably perpendicular to the normal firing position. A retaining pin, biased for retention within an indentation within a cocking spur pin allows the finger grip surface of the spur to rotate and face at least a side position of the handgun.

A hammer usable with a firearm having a bolt carrier that is configured to travel forward and rearward within the firearm during a firing operation of the firearm. The hammer includes a mounting portion configured to rotatably constrain the hammer within the firearm and a firing pin contact portion configured to rotate upward to a vertical most position and contact a firing pin. The hammer further includes a sear notch configured to contact a trigger, and an extended surface that is configured to contact a bottom portion of the bolt carrier when the bolt carrier travels in a rearward direction after firing of the firearm. The extended surface allows for additional travel of a bolt carrier group of the firearm.

TRIGGER ASSEMBLY
20220381530 · 2022-12-01 ·

A trigger assembly apparatus includes spherical portion(s) and spherical bearing(s), rounded sear, stabilizing catch, and complimentary shield. In an exemplary embodiment, the spherical portion(s) and spherical bearing(s) respond to non-linear movement. Further, the interaction of the spherical portion(s) and spherical bearing(s) results in the mobility of the trigger in relation to the 6 degrees of freedom thereby resulting in the firearm being generally unaffected by side to side movement of the trigger during activation. The trigger assembly may also include but is not limited to a rounded sear, stabilizing catch, and complimentary shield. The rounded portion of the sear engages the hammer stop notch at a single point further resulting in the firearm being generally unaffected by side to side movement of the trigger. Additionally the stabilizing catch and shield helps facilitate the proper reset of the trigger assembly.
