Structured firearm barrel
11709030 · 2023-07-25 ·

A barrel having a monolithic body, formed of an elongate structure extending from a breach end to a muzzle end; a projectile bore extending from a projectile chamber to the muzzle end; and a sleeve material positioned around at least a portion of the barrel to encompass at least a portion of the barrel, wherein the sleeve material includes filler particles embedded or dispersed within the sleeve material.

Hybrid gas-piston rifle and barrel nut
11592248 · 2023-02-28 ·

An improved gas piston system for the automatic loading of a rifle, especially a rifle of the M-16/AR-15 type. The system employs a barrel nut, or an adaptor to a barrel nut, that has been modified to secure one end of a gas piston system. The other end of the gas piston system, namely the piston rod, engages, either directly or indirectly, the key on a bolt carrier group. This configuration positions the gas piston system at a point starting near the barrel nut and extending to the bolt carrier group of the rifle, while a gas tube extends from the gas block to the gas piston system a point near the barrel nut.

Quick acting modular rifle interface

The invention relates to quick acting interfaces that allow for easier transportation and maintenance of precision rifles. Embodiments include an interface with an engaging segment and a receiving segment that engage one another and lock together. The engaging segment may have a series of connective bearings that fit into indentations inside the receiving segment. Embodiments allow a firearm to be modulated such that a barrel of the firearm may be disassembled without the need of any specialized equipment and reassembled without impacting the firearm's accuracy or reliability. Embodiments are scalable such that multiple interfaces can be used to adjust the total length of the firearm barrel.

ROUNDED PROJECTILES FOR TARGET DISRUPTION

Provided are methods and related devices for disrupting an explosive device using a propellant driven disrupter (PDD) that propels a rounded projectile (RP) toward an explosive device. The RP travels along a linear trajectory and impacts the target, including a barrier portion of the explosive device. The impacting between the RP and barrier forms a composite projectile via a solid state weld between a portion of the barrier and the RP distal end, thereby minimizing or avoiding spall and fragment generation into the explosive device. The projectile traverses a penetration distance along the linear trajectory, or a defined-angle relative thereto, to disrupt the explosive device without unwanted explosive detonation.

Weapon Barrel Having Integrated Suppressor
20230124066 · 2023-04-20 ·

A monolithic barrel for a weapon has an integral suppressor. The barrel and integral suppressor can be machined from a single piece of material, which can eliminate the need to attach separate components to the barrel. The monolithic barrel has a barrel bore for firing a projectile that produces discharge gas. To suppress the discharge, the barrel defines one or more baffles separating expansion chambers toward a distal end of the barrel. The barrel further defines one or more channels along the length of the barrel that provide extend flow paths for the discharge gas from the barrel's bore. Greater reductions in sound can be achieved relative to the overall barrel length due to the integral suppressor.

Integrated barrel and muzzle device system

The disclosed Integrated Barrel and Muzzle Device System (IBMDS) is a firearm suppressor having an interchangeable projectile tube attached to a muzzle endcap and to a gas block endcap proximal a threaded muzzle of the firearm. The disclosure also includes a suppressor tube body configured to receive the muzzle endcap and the gas block front endcap located against a distal face of the threaded muzzle. The disclosure additionally includes a suppressor element received into the suppressor tube body proximal the muzzle endcap, wherein the suppressor element channels propellant gases from openings defined in the interchangeable projectile tube through an array of open cells.

RIFLES AND MUZZLE LOADING RIFLES RECEIVING PROPELLANT CHARGE WITH AN EXTENDED PRIMER CAP IN A BOLT ACTION CONFIGURATION, AND METHOD OF LOADING
20230112727 · 2023-04-13 ·

A bolt action rifle having a receiver; a bolt in slidable communication within said receiver, having an elongated body and a bolt head at a first end, and an exposed bolt face with a primer recess cavity having a base with a forward-facing surface, the base having an aperture therein, where the aperture is circumscribed by the forward-facing surface for receiving a propellant charge having an extended primer cap, and a firing pin within the bolt and movable between a disengaged position wherein a firing pin head is receded within the aperture and an engaged position wherein the firing pin head extends beyond the forward-facing surface into the primer recess cavity.

QUICK TAKE-DOWN FIREARM

Quick take-down firearms and methods of using quick-take down firearms. The quick-take down includes an upper receiver coupling and a barrel coupling. The quick take-down can be unlocked by sliding a sliding lock collar in a translational motion to an unlocked position to release locking elements from a locked configuration. In the unlocked position, a barrel and handguard may be installed onto and removed from the upper receiver of the firearm. Releasing the sliding lock collar returns it to a locked position, securing the barrel and handguard to the upper receiver.

RIFLE BEDDING ASSEMBLY
20230168060 · 2023-06-01 ·

A bedding assembly for a rifle that includes a bedding block. The rifle has a barrel, which is attached to a receiver assembly, and the barrel has a longitudinal axis. The receiver assembly is attached to a stock by means of the bedding block. The bedding block is pivotally attached to the barrel, thereby forming an axis of pivotal attachment of the bedding block to the barrel. The axis of pivotal attachment of the bedding block to the barrel is horizontally perpendicular to and intersects the longitudinal axis of the barrel.

FIREARMS AND COMPONENTS THEREOF FEATURING ENHANCED BOLT LUG SHAPES

Firearms, and components of firearms, improve shooting accuracy and tolerance to debris/elements that may enter the receiver during use of the firearm in the field. The outer surface of the barrel and the receiver inner surface, and/or the bolt lugs and the receiver inner surface may feature tight-tolerance or press-fit mating, to enhance axial alignment for shooting accuracy. The bolt lugs may be configured to provide said tight-tolerance mating with the receiver when in the loaded and locked position, but may also be configured to provide space for accommodating debris/elements that enter the firearm so that bolt movement is not hindered by the debris/elements, and operation of the bolt, including cycling of the bolt in the firearm action when the shooter goes to load the next round, is smooth and consistent.
