Methods and apparatus for optical adapter for firearm slide
11644280 · 2023-05-09 · ·

An apparatus and method for modifying a handgun to accept an optical sight comprises a modified slide mechanism adapted to include a flat recessed rear section configured to receive an adapter plate for mounting an optical sight. Various embodiments include modified internal components used to replace stock components what will no longer fit within the modified profile of the slide mechanism. Replacement of the slide mechanism and associated internal components will allow a user to add an optical sight to an existing handgun.

A pistol caliber blowback operated bolt carrier group is provided with an integrated gas key. The carrier group providing a bolt carrier having elongated generally cylindrical body and a gas key integrally formed into a top portion of the body

Automatic firearm having an inertial automatic system
11686541 · 2023-06-27 ·

An automatic firearm having an inertial automation system comprises a barrel, which is movable along its own axis, a bolt support with a bolt, a recoil spring, a buffer spring and a hammer spring, a trigger mechanism, an ammunition feed mechanism, a mechanism for coordinating the actual firing, and a bolt support latch. The springs and the mechanism for coordinating the actual firing ensure a constant-value recoil force during automatic fire. Technical result consists in the improvement of the shooter's operating conditions, reduced vibration, and decreased bullet dispersion.

Pistol with a rotating closing device
11680759 · 2023-06-20 · ·

A pistol comprising a barrel having a combustion chamber and slide translatable between an advanced configuration closing the combustion chamber, and a retracted configuration opening the chamber and in both configurations is substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis. The slide has a locking seat and longitudinal grooving. A closing organ rotatable with respect to the axis between a first and a second angular position and an element drawing in rotation the closing organ and fixed to the fore-end. The closing organ has a locking relief and a cam taking the rotation from the at least one element drawing in rotation. In the advanced configuration, the closing organ is in the first angular position so the locking relief engages the locking seat and the barrel and slide constrain each other, in the retracted configuration the closing organ is in the second angular position wherein the locking relief disengages from the locking seat and slides along the grooving so the slide can retract with respect to the barrel.

Multi-ply heterogeneous armor with viscoelastic layers

An armor system with a composite laminate having at least four alternating layers (two bi-layers) of a first material and a second material, the first material having a lower acoustic impedance than the second material. The first material is an elastomer and the second material can be a hard material such as steel, aluminum, or ceramic, or an elastomer with a higher acoustic impedance than the first material. The laminate can include many alternating layers of the first and second materials, and can be adhered or affixed to a thicker armor substrate. Additional protective elements such as corrugated metal-ceramic panels and armored glass cylinders can be added to improve resistance to armor piercing rounds, explosively formed penetrators, or other threats.

EXTENDED SLIDE STOP
20230168052 · 2023-06-01 ·

An accessory slide stop is retrofit for commercially available and military application pistols. The slide stop acts as an add-on lever that replaces an existing lever of the pistol. The slide stop helps decrease the time it takes to reload the pistol. The slide stop is an extended body over that which is known in the art. The slide stop optimizes a position from which the slide stop can be hit by the operator, allows the operator to use either hand as the his or her support hand (non-trigger hand) without having to include two slide stops on each side of the pistol, and even changes the direction in which the operator is allowed to hit the slide stop in order to release the slide such that it is consistent with the direction in which the operator's support hand is already traveling as a result of reloading a charged magazine into the pistol.

FIREARM SLIDE WITH AN INTEGRATED FLASH HIDER

A firearm slide is disclosed. The firearm may include a slide and a flash hider integrally formed into an end of the slide.

Blowback action with gas assist
11248863 · 2022-02-15 · ·

A firearm using blowback action has a barrel which is movably mounted within a shroud which is fixedly mounted on the firearm's frame. A gas space is formed between the barrel and the shroud by a difference between the inner diameter of the shroud and the outer diameter of the barrel. At least one gas port provides fluid communication between the bore of the barrel and the gas space. During firing of a cartridge, pressurized gas in the gas space applies a force to the barrel which moves relatively to the shroud away from the muzzle end of the firearm to engage a slide or bolt, helping to move it out of battery and extract the spent cartridge casing. Gas is vented to the atmosphere through a gas vent defined between the barrel and the shroud in fluid communication with the gas space.
