A thumbrest for a handgun is provided, the thumbrest having at least a thumb support and a support base. The support base may be configured for mounting to the handgun. The thumb support may be pivotably movable with respect to the support base or a lateral side of a handgun frame, pivoting between a collapsed position, wherein the thumb support may be folded up adjacent to, or in contact with, the support base or the lateral side of the handgun frame, and an extended position, wherein the thumb support may be pivoted away from the support base or the lateral side of the handgun frame. In other embodiments, a spring may be configured to bias the thumb support toward the extended position, and a stop structure may be configured to limit pivotal movement of the thumb support, such that liming pivotal movement of the thumb support defines the extended position.

A buffer tube for a firearm can include a body defining an interior cavity for receiving a buffer spring and a rail disposed on and/or formed from the outer surface of the body. The rail can include one or more pin holes configured to receive a pin of a stock to lock the stock in a position. The buffer tube can also include a slide bar channel defined through at least a portion of the rail and configured to allow a slide bar to slide therein relative to the one or more pin holes to urge a pin out of a respective pin hole and/or to block a pin from being received by the pin holes.

A buffer tube for a firearm can include a body defining an interior cavity for receiving a buffer spring and a rail disposed on and/or formed from the outer surface of the body. The rail can include one or more pin holes configured to receive a pin of a stock to lock the stock in a position. The buffer tube can also include a slide bar channel defined through at least a portion of the rail and configured to allow a slide bar to slide therein relative to the one or more pin holes to urge a pin out of a respective pin hole and/or to block a pin from being received by the pin holes.

A firearm stock with adjustable cheek rest has a base having a base side portion configured to overlay a selected major face of the stock, the base having a base upper portion connected to the side portion and configured to extend over the uppermost crest line to the opposed upper surface away from the selected major face, the base upper portion having a first base upper portion surface configured to overlay the first stock upper surface, and a second base upper portion surface configured to overlay the second stock upper surface, and a cheek piece connected to the base and movable with respect to the base between a lower position and an upper position, and a plurality of intermediate positions. The base side portion, first base upper portion surface, and second base upper portion surface may be adhered to various portions of the stock.

A firearm stock with adjustable cheek rest has a base having a base side portion configured to overlay a selected major face of the stock, the base having a base upper portion connected to the side portion and configured to extend over the uppermost crest line to the opposed upper surface away from the selected major face, the base upper portion having a first base upper portion surface configured to overlay the first stock upper surface, and a second base upper portion surface configured to overlay the second stock upper surface, and a cheek piece connected to the base and movable with respect to the base between a lower position and an upper position, and a plurality of intermediate positions. The base side portion, first base upper portion surface, and second base upper portion surface may be adhered to various portions of the stock.

The invention provides improved modular gun stocks and their methods of manufacture. Advantageously, gun stocks of the invention require fewer parts than conventional gun stocks. The lower stock supports of the improved modular gun stocks can be removed and replaced in multiple ways so that a variety of gun stocks can be created as desired. The invention also eliminates the undesirable rattling noise that modular gun stocks often have after assembly.

An adjustable cheek riser is described. The cheek riser may include a cheek plate and a mounting plate. The cheek plate may removably couple to the mounting plate and configured to slide laterally along a mounting plate length. The cheek riser may further include a horizontal adjustment mechanism, which may include a first fastening member and a second fastening member. The first fastening member may be disposed on the cheek plate and may include a male boss. The second fastening member may be disposed on the mounting plate and may include divots or notches. The first fastening member may engage with the second fastening member to lock a position of the cheek plate on the mounting plate.

An adjustable cheek riser is described. The cheek riser may include a cheek plate and a mounting plate. The cheek plate may removably couple to the mounting plate and configured to slide laterally along a mounting plate length. The cheek riser may further include a horizontal adjustment mechanism, which may include a first fastening member and a second fastening member. The first fastening member may be disposed on the cheek plate and may include a male boss. The second fastening member may be disposed on the mounting plate and may include divots or notches. The first fastening member may engage with the second fastening member to lock a position of the cheek plate on the mounting plate.

A folding stock coupling system for a firearm. An openable/closeable hinge mechanism comprising front and rear hinge elements pivotably mounts the rear stock to the main body of the firearm. The hinge mechanism is selectively movable between a locked condition when the stock is unfolded and inline with the main body for firing, and an unlocked condition when the stock is folded forward and offset from the main body for compact carrying or storage. A manually movable actuating button of the hinge mechanism selectively locks or unlocks the rear to the front hinge members in the locked and unlocked conditions, respectively. Embodiments include a detent mechanism for removably retaining the folded position. An elongated rear mounting extension coupled to the rear hinge member provides a common stock mounting interface compatible for interchanging a plurality of different stocks to the firearm each sharing a common mounting profile.
