Representative implementations of devices and techniques provide a holster mount assembly, to mount and to support an implement (such as a handgun, for example) or an implement holster (such as a handgun holster or shell, for example), or the like, in a variety of configurations. The holster mount assembly is arranged to be worn on a user's person, clothing, or gear (backpacks, gear packs, accessories, straps, belts, etc.), for example, for temporarily and safely carrying the implement, while making the implement easily accessible to the user. In various embodiments, the holster mount assembly is comprised of two primary components, where one of the two components is coupled to the implement or implement holster.

A safety and retention device is provided for a weapon. The device has a first section that operates as a trigger guard cover or shield and is adapted to fit closely and specifically on the trigger guard of the weapon. The second section of the device operates as a retention clip that is designed to maintain or hold the holster (and weapon) on an item of clothing worn by a user. The first section and the second section can be integrally formed such that the first section and the second section share a common base.

A firearm retention mechanism is provided for a holster. The device comprises first and second arms that each have a first end and a second end, outwardly extending retention elements and trigger guard stops, and a fastener which connects the first and second arms so that they define an open top, with the retention elements and trigger guard stops facing one another, the trigger guard stops located below the retention elements. The arms are connected to sides of the holster with the open top facing upwardly to receive a trigger guard of the firearm, which is then pressed between the retention elements.

No holster body is beneath or rearward of the tab portion, configured as a thumb button, allowing smooth transition to gripping the handgun.

A combination exteriorly worn holster and an illuminator packaged together for retail sale, the combination providing a simple exteriorly worn holster solution for handguns with an attached accessory that is wearable either on the right or left side, with a reliable passive retention, and with a universal fit for a very large segment of the semi-automatic handguns with accessory rails. The accessory removed from the packaging instantly snaps onto the handgun's rail without utilizing threaded fasteners such that the handgun and accessory is readily received by the holster and the accessory provides the entirety of the engagement between the handgun and accessory combination and the holster. A Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment (MOLLE)/Pouch Attachment Ladder System (PALS) (MOLLE/PALS) compatible carrying system including a belt, at least two ladder levels coupled to the belt, the two ladder levels being generally horizontal when the belt is being worn, and an attachment device carried by the belt. The attachment device having a carried element; and a mounting element with a plurality of downwardly extending fingers, the carried element being coupled to the mounting element below the extent of the extending fingers, the mounting element interacting with the two ladder levels.

A holster for concealing a laser-sighted handgun is provided. Advantageously, the holster fits lasers and handguns of many sizes. The holster may be readily attached to a belt around the waist or ankle. The holster is configured such that it is comfortable and such that a handgun is concealable with most usual movements of a user. For example, a handgun remains in substantially the same position within the holster when a user bends forward thereby remaining concealed.
