Firearm rail mount and related method of use
11703308 · 2023-07-18 · ·

An accessory mount for removably attaching an accessory to a firearm rail includes a base having a mounting rail, a lock block moveable in a recess of the base and a throw lever, which when activated, allows springs to move the lock block in the recess so the lock block disengages the firearm rail in an open mode. The thumb lever also can engage the lock block to a closed mode in which it clamps the mount to the firearm rail in a fixed position relative to the firearm. An accessory thus can be firmly, consistently and securely mounted relative to the firearm with the mount. The thumb lever can be joined with a threaded shaft that engages a threaded element, for example, a keps nut, associated with the lock block. A toggle lock can selectively engage notches in the threaded element to set the overall clamping force of the lock block and mount on the firearm rail.

Firearm sight with modular interchangeable hoods

A sighting device is configured to be mounted on a firearm and comprises a core unit that includes a source of electrical power; a hood removably secured to the core unit and enclosing a portion of the core unit and at least partially defining a sight window through the hood; and an electrical connection between the core unit and the hood, wherein electrical power is transmitted between the core unit and the hood. The electrical accessory may be one of a solar charging cell; a laser pointer sighting device powered by the core unit; or a laser range-finding device powered by the core unit.

FIREARM ACCESSORY MOUNT

A firearm accessory mount assembly and associated components and methods. The mount assembly can include a mount, at least one dovetail connector, and at least one fastener. The mount can have a first side configured to receive the firearm accessory and a second side configured to engage the firearm. The fastener can be used to secure the dovetail connector in position with respect to the mount and to secure the mount to the firearm. Other constructions and methods are disclosed.

A rail mounting assembly for mounting an accessory to a rail of a firearm includes a base portion arranged to support the accessory. The assembly includes a lock nut receiving recess on a first side portion and a moveable clamp on a second side portion where the side portions cooperate to grip the rail. A crossbar extends between the side portions such that the crossbar is movable relative to the moveable clamp. A lock nut is threadably engageable to an end of the crossbar proximate to the first side portion and a lock plate is positioned within the lock nut receiving recess between the lock nut and a spring disk when the lock nut is threadably engaged with the crossbar. The lock nut receiving recess is shaped to prevent rotation of the lock plate while allowing rotation of the lock nut.

Firearm accessory mounting interface

An accessory mounting interface for a firearm, and a related method, are disclosed. The interface has a firearm accessory, a first elongated fastener, and a second fastener rotationally mated to the first elongated fastener. The first elongated fastener has right-handed threading and is arranged through a through hole in the firearm accessory with a first end extending below first and second halves of a first slot protrusion of the firearm accessory. The second fastener has a length greater than a width, the length measured along a longitudinal axis of the second fastener, the second fastener having a plurality of straight edges. At least one of the plurality of straight edges prevents the second fastener from rotating further than a closed position when the at least one of the straight edges abuts a sidewall of an elongated slot in the firearm.

COMPACT LOCKING RAIL MOUNT AND MOUNTING ASSEMBLY

A locking rail mount including a body mounted adjacent to a mounting rail and a clamp screw extending through a channel defined by the body and across the mounting rail. The clamp screw includes a screw head having a surface facing toward the mounting rail with locking elements having a surface relief geometry. At least one compression spring is positioned between the body and a rail clamp that pushes the rail clamp toward the surface of the screw head. The surface of the rail clamp includes locking elements having the surface relief geometry that are complementarily arranged with respect to the locking elements of the screw head. When the clamp screw is tightened, the locking elements of the rail clamp and screw head are aligned to lock the rail clamp and clamp screw together to prevent unintended rotation of the clamp screw.

Weapon mountable illumination device

A weapon mountable illumination device configured to mount to existing firearm mounting rails to provide illumination of potential targets while mitigating problems associated with snagging, and shadow casting. It is an aspect of the present invention to provide a rapidly mountable device to provide increased lighting capability while obviating the need to remove back up iron sights.

ADJUSTABLE SIGHT ASSEMBLY

In one example, the disclosure relates to adjustable flip up sight assembly that can be adjusted vertically and laterally in particular, for an automatic firearm, comprising a front sight support element that is supported by an axle on a mount, in particular such that they can pivot thereon, wherein the front sight support element has an adjustment element supported on a spring element and releasably connected to a front sight, which contains a keyhole type opening through which the axle is inserted, wherein the adjustment element can be moved in relation to the axle against the spring force between two positions inside the front sight support element such that the keyhole opening prevents a lateral movement of the front sight support element along the axle when engaged with the axle, and allows the lateral adjustment of the front sight support element in a released position.

MULTIDIRECTIONAL FIREARM LIGHT

An illumination device for a firearm may include a housing supporting multiple lamps. A switch actuator of the device is rotationally coupled to a rear end of the housing. A cam is coupled to the switch actuator, such that the cam rotates with the actuator, the cam having a first end including a magnet and a second end having a shaped cam surface configured to interface with a cam follower. The actuator and the cam are biased toward a neutral position. Selective rotation of the cam causes a magnet of the cam to operate one or more magnetic switches. The cam is transitionable between a plurality of discrete positions, e.g., including a pair of toggle positions in the first rotational direction from the neutral position, and a pair of momentary positions disposed on the cam in the second rotational direction from the neutral position.
