09791243 · 2017-10-17 · ·

A weapon effect simulation system including a fire simulation system and at least one hit simulation system. The fire simulation system includes a transmitter for transmitting electromagnetic waves to simulate real ammunition from a weapon and elements for including information in the electromagnetic waves. The hit simulation system includes both a receiver for receiving the transmitted electromagnetic waves and a processor for determining, based on received electromagnetic waves, whether a target has been hit. The fire simulation system further includes a calculator for calculating the imagined trajectory of the simulated ammunition and a processor for determining the geographical position of the weapon, and wherein the elements for including information in the electromagnetic waves are arranged so as to include information related to coordinates in the three-dimensional space for the calculated ammunition trajectory.

The present invention relates to a method 300 for facilitating simulation of a shot from a weapon, wherein the weapon is equipped with a laser device which works on the time-of-flight principle. The method comprises the step 310 of receiving an emitted coded laser pulse sequence from the weapon by a simulation device. The method further comprises the step 350 of transferring a returned coded pulse sequence which corresponds to the emitted coded laser pulse sequence back to the weapon by the simulation device. The simulation device is a range simulation device. The method further comprises the step of delaying 330 said transferring in relation to said receiving so that said delay is perceived by said weapon as a longer travel time of the emitted coded laser pulse sequence and the returned coded pulse sequence, respectively. The method further relates to a simulation device.

ARTILLERY UNIT CONTROL PANEL EMULATOR INTEGRATION WITH TRAINING SYSTEM

Systems and methods for interfacing an artillery unit control panel emulator with a collective training environment are disclosed. One method includes reading output data including one or more output data segments generated by the artillery unit control panel emulator. The method includes examining the output data to identify a trigger event in the one or more output data segments. The method includes extracting details regarding the trigger event from the one or more output data segments. The method includes creating a message indicative of the trigger event and including the details regarding the trigger event. The method includes sending, via a communication interface, the message to a device within the collective training environment.
