A system for a smart rail target is provided. The system includes a metal rail and a car device. The car device is configured for being mounted to and moving along the metal rail. The car device includes a plurality of traction wheels configured for moving the car device along the metal rail, an electric motor configured for providing motive force to the traction wheels, and a rechargeable energy storage device configured for providing electrical energy to the electric motor. The stand is made of rigid pipes that can be rapidly and easily assembled and disassembled without tools, The stand can accommodate target or sign panels of varying height or width, as the backdrops can be secured at any position along the vertically adjustable, horizontally disposed, rigid crossbars by a plurality of spring clips or, alternatively, a plurality of magnets if said crossbar is made of ferrous metal. With a unique structural design and reasonable use of materials, the target disc holder has stronger stability and does not collapse after being shot.
