MONITOR DEVICE HAVING BULLET DISPERSION PREVENTION FUNCTION FOR SHOOTING GAME
20230014386 · 2023-01-19 ·

A monitor device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure has a bullet dispersion prevention function for a shooting game. The monitor device includes a frame coupled along a circumferential surface of the display apparatus and protruding out of a front surface of the display device, an impact-absorbing shooting pad coupled to an end of the protruding frame, formed to be transparent to show an image displayed on the display device, and configured to, when a bullet hits a hitting surface at an angle within a preset angle range from the vertical, absorb impact of the bullet so that the bullet hitting the hitting surface falls downward, and a bullet dispersion prevention unit configured to, when a bullet hits the impact-absorbing shooting pad at an angle exceeding the preset angle range from the vertical, enable the bullet to fall downward without being scattered outward.

Method for acoustically counting gunshots fired indoors

After determining that a gunshot has been fired, particularly indoors, the method of the invention is employed to determining the number of gunshots fired by analyzing consecutive windows of time over a certain time period. That is, after it is determined that a gun has been fired, the method is employed to identify that the gun is an automatic or rapid fire weapon by quickly counting the number of rounds shot over short periods of time. This information can be used to provide shooting details, both in connection with notifying emergency personnel and enabling the personnel to assess details of the shooting incident.

Apparatus and method for indicating whether a target has been impacted by a projectile

Apparatuses, systems and methods for indicating whether a target has been impacted by a projectile are disclosed. Embodiments may include a microcontroller, an impact sensor, and an impact indicator. Apparatus may include an acoustic sensor and a miss indicator. Acoustic information or impact information may be received by the sensors and sent to the microcontroller unit. A determination may be made regarding whether the target has been impacted. An indication of a hit or a miss may be made by the impact indicator based on the determination. A light redirection element, which may include a light pipe, may direct light from the impact indicator around the edge of a target to a viewer.

A portable target apparatus is described including a threat/shoot target and a no threat/no shoot target positioned near the threat/shoot target. A user defined number of projectile impacts on only the threat/shoot target move it to a position out of the shooter's field-of-view. The threat/shoot target remains in the shooter's field-of-view whenever the no threat/no shoot target is impacted by a projectile.

Hyper-velocity impact sensor

A hyper-velocity impact sensor is configured to probe a mass of material consumed upon impact with an object. The probe can extract density and thickness characteristics of the impacted object, which can be used to classify the object.
