A non-electric device of initiation is proposed, converting initial mechanical pulses into firing force or stimulating an explosive transformation, usable for initiating explosive devices or any means involving sanctioned detonation or combustion. The proposed device includes an element provided with an axial through-channel in the form of an insert or being integral with a housing of an igniter, munition, or pyrotechnic device. An igniting composition may be positioned in the channel. The proposed device can be triggered by any mechanical impulse, such as a shock impulse, a percussive impulse, or a grating impulse. The proposed device is standardized so as to work with various explosive devices, pyrotechnic devices and igniting compositions, provides for high operational reliability, a high level of safety, a long useful life of the initiator, simple and safe production, and an optional capability to avoid the use of metal components and phosphorus compositions.

Door breaching projectile

This invention describes embodiments of door breaching grenades (100,100a,100b,100c,100d). Each grenade comprises a projectile (101,101a,101b,101c,101d) coupled to a propulsion cartridge (105); each projectile comprises a shell (110), a body member (140) and an ogive (180). A safe-and-arm mechanism (150) is located in the body member. A seat member (160) and a plunger (166) are assembled on a forward face of the body member so that a leading end of the plunger is in contact with an inside tip surface of the ogive, or a hollow guide member (184) is integrally formed with an inside tip surface of the ogive. In the armed state, upon impacting on a door/barricade (5), the plunger or hollow guide/sleeve impinges on a detonator pin (164), which then sets off a chain of explosive charges (152, 120, 122) whilst the projectile is still outside the door/barricade. The grenade is made substantially of polymer parts.
