Cartridge with igniter cords
The invention relates to a cartridge having a projectile secured to a case that contains a propelling charge and closed by a base. A device for igniting the propelling charge has at least two energetic igniter cords that extend between an initiating means secured to a rear part of the case and the projectile. In this cartridge, the cords are joined at their rear part so as to form a strand, and they are fastened by at least one fastening means secured to the cartridge, the strand being connected to the initiating means by a packing gland making it possible to immobilize the cords both radially and axially relative to the initiating means while keeping the cords tight between their fastening means and the initiating means.
AMMUNITION CARTRIDGE
Ammunition cartridge comprising a rigid casing including a tubular sleeve and a base closing an end of the casing, a projectile mounted at another end of the casing, a propellant charge contained inside the casing, and an ignition device. The ignition device comprises an ignition charge arranged to ignite the propellant charge at a point of ignition distal from the base and proximal the projectile.
Radio frequency antenna for use in the confines of a breech
A weapon system effectively, efficiently and safely transmits high energy radio frequency energy into the confines of the breech environment to initiate propelling charges. Legacy components are leveraged, along with advanced manufacturing techniques, to create antenna structures which transmit the radio frequency energy throughout the breech to initiate radio frequency-based primers.
Radio frequency igniter
An ignition system for energetics including artillery charges includes a radio frequency transmitter and a radio frequency igniter. The radio frequency igniter receives and converts radio frequency energy into heat or electrical energy for the purpose of igniting energetics, such as propellants or pyrotechnics. The radio frequency igniter may be applied to the exterior of the energetic container or may be integral to the container.

Triggering mechanism for hybrid primer cartridges
Methods to trigger the Hybrid primer cartridge in electro-mechanical and full electric mode using modified locking chamber with electric power contacts that can supply the modified bolt with very high-voltage electric power supply where the contacts are sufficiently insulated to avoid any leakage. Modified bolt with power contacts on the locking lugs such that when in locked position it can receive power from the chamber's power supply contacts and apply the electric power to the electrode pins of the hybrid primer through the contacts on the face of the bolt. An electric switch that is controlled by the movement of the hammer or striker converting the mechanical movement to simultaneously control the electrical triggering of the primer thereby eliminating need for microprocessor or microcontroller units. A hybrid hammer device which has high-voltage power pulse supply and return contact points surrounded with adequate electrical insulation wherein one of the contacts may be such that it acts like an electrical switch which will be closed when the hammer strikes the hybrid firearm firing pin and bolt. A bolt which can receive the power from the hybrid hammer through the contacts in the aft or through the insulated firing pin contacts.
Layered energetic material having multiple ignition points
An energetic material having thin, alternating layers of metal oxide and reducing metal is provided. The energetic material may be provided in the form of a sheet, foil, cylinder, or other convenient structure. A method of making the energetic material resists the formation of oxide on the surface of the reducing metal, allowing the use of multiple thin layers of metal oxide and reducing metal for maximum contact between the reactants, without significant lost volume due to oxide formation. An ignition system for the energetic material includes multiple ignition points, as well as a means for controlling the timing and sequence of activation of the individual ignition points. A gas producing layer is also provided to increase pressure.

A bolt which can receive the power from the hybrid hammer through the contacts in the aft or through the insulated firing pin contacts.
Radio frequency igniter
An ignition system for energetics including artillery charges includes a radio frequency transmitter and a radio frequency igniter. The radio frequency ignitor receives and converts radio frequency energy into heat or electrical energy for the purpose of igniting energetics, such as propellants or pyrotechnics. The radio frequency igniter may be applied to the exterior of the energetic container or may be integral to the container.
