Downline wire
11456089 · 2022-09-27 · ·

A downline wire (10) serves to connect a location on the ground surface to at least one detonator (52) in a blast hole. The downline wire includes at least two flexible electrical conductors (12, 14) encased by respective flexible layers of an insulating material (20, 22) and a flexible sheath (24) in which the insulated conductors are embedded. Each conductor (12, 14) is made of a copper-clad steel core and the insulating material is either a filled flexible polyvinylchloride (PVC) composition or a polyester elastomer. The sheath (24) is made from a medium or high density polyethylene compound which includes carbon black.

Seal device for hydraulic circuit

In a seal device for a hydraulic circuit, in which an oil passage that supplies hydraulic oil to or discharges the hydraulic oil from a hydraulic actuator operated by hydraulic pressure is formed over at least two members that relatively move, and a seal member that seals a gap between the two members in a liquid-tight manner is disposed in an interior of a groove section that is formed in at least either one of the two members, a communication section that allows the groove section to communicate with any portion of the oil passage such that the hydraulic oil in the interior of the groove section moves along with supply of the hydraulic oil to or discharge of the hydraulic oil from the hydraulic actuator is formed.

Tamp for explosive material

This description relates to a tamp for an explosive. The tamp is formed from heat-shrink material having its ends heat-shrunk closed holding a tamp substance therein. A length of heat-shrink material is provided. A first end of the heat-shrink material is heated-shrunk closed to create a bag shape. A tamp substance is inserted into the bag via a second end of the heat-shrink material. The second end of the heat-shrink material is heat-shrunk closed to create a tamp. The tamp is placed adjacent to an explosive. This description also relates to a sleeve for an explosive. The sleeve is formed from heat-shrink material. An explosive is placed in the sleeve. One or both ends of the sleeve may be heat-shrunk closed.

An apparatus for providing a nonlabor-intensive process for sealing an opening formed in the ground with a chemically-inflatable bag is provided. The chemically-inflatable bag contains two or more chemical reactants, one of which is a liquid reactant that is initially stored in a liquid-containing device. The liquid-containing device has a removable cap, which upon removal or breakage of the cap permits the liquid reacting agent to contact and react with another reacting agent. The chemical reaction produces carbon dioxide, which expands the chemically-inflatable bag from a collapsed condition to an inflated condition. In the inflated condition, the chemically-inflatable bag fills and protects the integrity of the formed cavity.
