DUAL-RESOLUTION 3D SCANNER AND METHOD OF USING
A 3D scanner system includes a scanning device capable of recording first and second data sets of a surface of an object when operating in a first configuration and a second configuration, respectively. A measurement unit is configured for measuring a distance from the scanning device to the surface. A control controls an operation of the scanning device based on the distance measured by the measurement unit, where the scanning device operates in the first configuration when the measured distance is within a first range of distances from the surface and the scanning device operates in the second configuration when the measured distance is within a second range of distances; and a data processor is configured to combine one or more first data sets and one or more second data sets to create a combined virtual 3D model of the object surface.

System and method for calibrating a plurality of 3D sensors with respect to a motion conveyance
This invention provides an easy-to-manufacture, easy-to-analyze calibration object which combines measurable and repeatable, but not necessarily accurate, 3D features—such as a two-sided calibration object/target in (e.g.) the form of a frustum, with a pair of accurate and measurable features, more particularly parallel faces separated by a precise specified thickness, so as to provide for simple field calibration of opposite-facing DS sensors. Illustratively, a composite calibration object can be constructed, which includes the two-sided frustum that has been sandblasted and anodized (to provide measurable, repeatable features), with a flange whose above/below parallel surfaces have been ground to a precise specified thickness. The 3D corner positions of the two-sided frustum are used to calibrate the two sensors in X and Y, but cannot establish absolute Z without accurate information about the thickness of the two-sided frustum; the flange provides the absolute Z information.
Intraoral 3D scanner employing multiple miniature cameras and multiple miniature pattern projectors
A method for generating a 3D image includes driving structured light projector(s) to project a pattern of light on an intraoral 3D surface, and driving camera(s) to capture images, each image including at least a portion of the projected pattern, each one of the camera(s) comprising an array of pixels. A processor compares a series of images captured by each camera and determines which of the portions of the projected pattern can be tracked across the images. The processor constructs a three-dimensional model of the intraoral three-dimensional surface based at least in part on the comparison of the series of images. Other embodiments are also described.
Multiview video encoding and decoding method
The present disclosure provides a multi-view image decoding method including: obtaining, from a bitstream, three-dimensional geometry information indicating a three-dimensional space of a multi-view image, view independent component information indicating a view independent component, which is uniformly applied to every view, and view dependent component information indicating a view dependent component, which is differently applied according to views; determining a view dependent component for a texture map of a current view from the view dependent component information; generating the texture map of the current view from a view independent component of the view independent component information and the determined view dependent component for the current view; and reconstructing a current view image according to a three-dimensional space that is constructed according to the texture map of the current view and the three-dimensional geometry information.
DETECTION DEVICE, DETECTION SYSTEM, DETECTION METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A detection device includes: a detector that detects an object from a first viewpoint; an information calculator that calculates first model information including shape information on the object from the first viewpoint by using detection results of the detector; a light source calculator that calculates light source information on the light source by using a first taken image obtained by imaging a space including a light source that irradiates the object with illumination light and including the object; and a position calculator that calculates a positional relation between the first viewpoint and the object by using the light source information as information used to integrate the first model information and second model information including shape information obtained by detecting the object from a second viewpoint different from the first viewpoint.
METROLOGY APPARATUS
Methods and apparatus for processing a substrate are provided. For example, metrology apparatus configured for use with a substrate processing platform comprise an interferometer configured to obtain a first set of measurements at a first set of points along a surface of a substrate, a sensor configured to obtain a second set of measurements at a second set of points different from the first set of points along the surface of the substrate, an actuator configured to position the interferometer and the sensor at various positions along a measurement plane parallel to the surface of the substrate for obtaining the first set of measurements and the second set of measurements, and a substrate support comprising a substrate support surface for supporting the substrate beneath the measurement plane while obtaining the first set of measurements and the second set of measurements.
Conveyor package-flow measuring system
System and methods for estimating the number of packages in a measurement zone to gauge package flow. A linear array of distance-measuring sensors measures the height profile of a mass of packages conveyed past. The profile is differentiated, and steps in the differentiated profile are counted to detect package edges and to produce an estimate of the number of packages in the measurement zone. The estimate can be used to adjust the speed of the conveyor to provide a constant package flow.
