A measuring assembly for a measuring tape device may include a blade, an end hook and an anti-rollover attachment. The blade may include a first end configured to extend from an aperture in a housing of the measuring tape device and a second end configured to be wound on a reel assembly. The end hook may be disposed at the first end of the blade to engage an object for measurement, and may extend substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal centerline of the blade to extend away from an underside of the blade. The anti-rollover attachment may be disposed proximate to the end hook at the first end of the blade such that a center of gravity of the anti-rollover attachment is spaced apart from the underside of the blade. A combined weight of the end hook and the anti-rollover attachment may be in a range between about 10 grams and about 55 grams.

A sports field marking assembly and method of marking creates a boundary reference point and field lines on a field or for coaching. The assembly provides a marker anchoring device that is loaded with field markers. The marker anchoring device comprises a translatable handle coupled to a spring-loaded piston that discharge the field markers into the surface of the sports field. Bristles couple to a rear end of the marker body for visibility above the surface of the field. A tape canister couples to the marker anchoring device to dispense a measuring tape. The measuring tape couples to the field markers, serving to delineate the boundaries and lines on the field. Multiple aligners anchor into the sports field to retain the measuring tape in the formed patterns. The aligners have collapsible and moveable guide posts that can be selectively raised to guide the measuring tape though the chosen guide posts.

The coating provides a reinforced tape blade such that elongate tape blade may have a pinch load threshold of greater than 50 lbs. and/or a pinch height at break of less than 1.5 mm. A hook assembly may also provide for reduced stress at the end of the tape blade.

A measuring tape device may include a housing having an aperture, a reel assembly, a blade having a first end configured to extend from the housing through the aperture and a second end configured to be wound on the reel assembly, and an end hook disposed at the first end of the blade. The end hook may have a front face that faces away from the aperture and a rear face that faces toward the aperture. A high friction surface including grains may be disposed over at least a portion of a surface of the rear face.

A method of packaging a measuring tape device such that an internal feature of the measuring tape device is exposed may include supporting a housing of the measuring tape device on a base portion of an internal feature exposing holder, and proximate to a backing portion of the internal feature exposing holder, extending a portion of a blade of the measuring tape device from the housing to engage a hook capturing edge of an extension portion, and retaining the housing with the base portion and the backing portion such that a portion of the blade remains exposed.

The measurement apparatus may have a first receptacle for measuring from an acute point of the beveled cut end. The measurement apparatus may have a second receptacle for measuring from an obtuse point of the beveled cut end. The second receptacle may be offset from the first receptacle by an offset distance in a lengthwise direction. The measurement apparatus may include a tape channel positioned between the first and second receptacles. The measurement apparatus may include a longitudinally adjustable hinge and a latch. The longitudinally adjustable hinge and the latch may be used to secure the measuring tape in the tape channel. The longitudinally adjustable hinge may also be used to adjust the offset distance.
