An apparatus including an inspection apparatus for inspecting an artefact, and a transfer mechanism for moving a pallet on which an artefact is located relative to the inspection apparatus so as to move the pallet to and from an inspection location, and further including at least one pallet lifter which can be actuated between a retracted and an extended configuration, configured such that when a pallet is at the inspection location the at least one pallet lifter can be actuated to its extended configuration so as to engage with and lift the pallet and thereby decouple the pallet from the transfer mechanism.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETERMINING DIMENSIONAL PROPERTIES OF A MEASUREMENT OBJECT
A computer-assisted method for determining dimensional properties of a measurement object using a coordinate measuring machine. An image representation of the measurement object is shown to a user and the user selects a first geometric element of the measurement object, resulting in the display of eligible test features for the selected first geometric element. The eligible test features are automatically determined from a plurality of typical test features stored in a database, by the selected first geometric element being assigned to one of a plurality of predefined measurement elements stored in the database. A defined measurement sequence is generated in a computer-assisted manner based on the test feature selected by the user. Individual measured values are recorded on the first geometric element using the defined measurement sequence. A numerical value based on the individual measured values is determined, which represents a dimensional property of the first geometric element corresponding to the selected test feature.

Disclosed are a linkage device, a transceiver module and a plane stress field measuring device and method capable of achieving synchronous adjustment of distance and angle, and relates to the field of ultrasonic non-destructive testing. The existing technical means for measuring plane stress in the field of ultrasonic testing has the shortcomings that the same testing is only applicable for single materials and the deflection angles of transmitting and receiving transducers are inconsistent. In the application, the linkage device designed by comprising a distance adjusting screw, an angle adjusting screw, a left connecting rod, a right connecting rod, a shaft column and a column lock is adopted, and based on the linkage device, the transceiver module designed by comprising a receiving end wedge, a receiving probe, a transmitting end wedge and a transmitting probe is additionally arranged; based on the transceiver module, the measuring device designed by comprising a pulse transmitting device, an amplifying device and a data acquisition device is additionally arranged, and the stress measuring method applicable for the stress measuring device is provided; and the distance and deflection angle between the receiving probe and the transmitting probe of the detection are adjusted according to a tested part. The application applies to stress measurement in the manufacturing process of mechanical components.

A system for assembling a fixture to hold a workpiece for measurement by a CMM includes a plurality of fixture components. The fixture components are used to assemble the fixture. The system also includes a fixture plate having a plurality of fixture component securing portions that are configured to couple with the fixture components to define the fixture. The fixture is configured to couple with the workpiece to hold the workpiece in a predefined orientation. A fixture identifier is configured to identify the fixture components, and a securing portion identifier is configured to identify the securing portions that couple with the fixture components. A visual emphasizing unit is configured to visually emphasize one or more of the fixture components and/or one or more of the securing portions to provide an indication of a fixture component that is to be coupled with a corresponding securing portion

The following are observed using a camera: a first position of a small hole of a workpiece, which is fixed to a linear-and-tilting-motion stage and rotating with a rotating body, and a second position thereof different from the first position, at a first rotation angle of the rotating body; and the first position and the second position of the small hole of the workpiece at a second rotation angle different from the first rotation angle of the rotating body. A position and a tilt of the small hole are calculated from coordinates of the respective observed positions, and small hole information, which includes the position and the tilt of the small hole, is outputted.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USING A TOOL ASSEMBLY
A system and method of using a tool assembly is provided. The system includes a body, a first camera and a second camera fixed to the body, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive data indicative of images of a reference feature from the first camera, determine data indicative of a first spatial position of the first camera based at least in part on the received data indicative of the images of the reference feature, and determine data indicative of a second spatial position of the second camera based on the first spatial position, a known spatial relationship between the first location and the second location, or both. Further, the controller may be configured to receive data indicative of images of a target feature using the second camera, derive dimensions of the target feature based on the images, and generate a three-dimensional representation of the target feature.
Fixture-assembling system
A system for assembling a fixture to hold a workpiece for measurement by a CMM includes a plurality of fixture components. The fixture components are used to assemble the fixture. The system also includes a fixture plate having a plurality of fixture component securing portions that are configured to couple with the fixture components to define the fixture. The fixture is configured to couple with the workpiece to hold the workpiece in a predefined orientation.
